Country based communities in HOTS

Hi, i was just wondering if any other people are connected to country based HOTS communities and how well developed they are in terms of tournaments/events.

I my self am part of a Norwegian community, seeing as i am Norwegian ofc.
We host tournaments about every half year, and we have one that is currently running.
Although the tournament is small, it’s fun and competative at the same time.

The tournament usually manages to gather up 5-6 teams each season, with players all ranging from Bronze to Grand Masters.
We usually divvy up teams by assigning those that wants to be captains and higher ranked players, the captains then get to pick their own team by picking a player 1 by 1, until all players are picked from the pool.
Although not required, it’s a gentleman’s gesture to try and balance all the teams with players from all ranks, and not just pick from the highest ranked players and burst through the tournament undefeated.

We mostly manage to make the teams fairly balanced each season.
We also do have a tournament ongoing at the moment which is getting near the end.
As a side note we have 1 frenchmen & 1 sweed that we have allowed to enter our tournament, since they mostly have their friends tied up in the Norwegian community.

So back to the main question, are there anyone here part of a community that also hosts these types of tournaments or other types of events that are currently very active stil?

I am a member of a team in the Nexus Gaming Series (www . nexusgamingseries . org), which is one of the larger amateur leagues in NA. We are currently at the end of the playoffs, with most divisions holding their championships this week or next.

We also just had a one day tournament to celebrate the 10th anniversary with 8 teams of mixed ranks duking it out. I believe those VoDs are up on the NGS Twitch and/or YouTube channels.

To me, amateur leagues, where teams are truly matched skill wise, is how HotS was meant to be played!
