It’s super annoying, I agree.
I would suggest the workaround of using the HeroesSwitcher instead of the launcher. Doing so means no patch.
The only occasion you will need to use the launcher is when Hots receives a “real” patch, which happens very infrequently, and you will only need to do so the single time.
In windows, you can find the file here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Heroes of the Storm\Support64\HeroesSwitcher_x64.exe"
Just make a shortcut on your desktop or whatever and enjoy Hots with no daily patches.

That is the trick I have used ever since a disgruntled ex. employee left that permanent update loop bug in the game (just kidding… I hope 
)
Simply open the HeroesSwitcher_x64.exe from an icon, rather than the battle.net launcher.
I believe Hoku was the first one to bring it to public attention, though she no longer posts here.
