Not really. Yet it’s good that they play again but it’s miles away from HGC competition. For me the greatest thing is that I can watch Zaelia again.

When you had teams like MVP Black, Fnatic, Dignitas, Liquid…it is a bit hard to compare to.

I mean competition like scrims every day. 20 Hours of practice. The scale of HGC was bigger.

Well, Fnatic is basically back together. Sure, this is casual compared to the full time job HGC was, but it is fun to see them playing!

Well, we don’t know how much scrims and practice these guys do.

I beleive the last prize was 20 000 euros. For that amount, I’m pretty sure they did plenty of practice.

Bigger scale doesn’t mean the ganes were better though. I remember the HGC meta when ETC was the best tank, and Malfurion was the best healer., and GM was everywhere. It was pretty stale. Definitely not better than the game I watched last night.

I would not call Hardos casual by any description. Or Team WAH. Those guys mop the floor wtith anyone that isn’t perfectly coordinated.

To come close to HGC to attract players we need bigger price. 20k EUR or USD is not that big. Imagine price for 1st place is 100k and live event that gathers players inolto one region would be amazing.

Personally I wish FanHots to return but he said unless there’s big price money chances are less likely to see him on competitive scene.

But HGC did not attract players. That’s why it was cancelled.

Well the general public didn’t know what was happening behind the scenes. Later we found out about stressful environment and high expectations which lead to fast changes into the game but poorly managed esports didn’t make the game to be as big as higher ups wanted Heroes of The Storm to be.

The demand for more fast changes lead to different meta. Which wasn’t greatly appreciated by the fans. I do agree the game today is a little better than it was back then

Casual in the sense that HotS isn’t their main, full-time job, the way things were with HGC. The money prizes being offered, even with CCL, isn’t enough income to justify ignoring other sources for spending 40 hours a week scouting, scrims, and so forth.
