Since Ragnaros lava wave is blocked on aram, coz of obvious reasons. Chormies shifting sands also should be blocked. It is absurd its range and unlimited duration with very low mana cost. Alley on ARAMS are thin… and ulti which covers almost half of the alley is just beyond reason.
Please block this coz chromie and li ming on aram are enough absurd, but this ultimate… just sick and stupid.
OR at least make it diminishning, same as stukov’s E

There’s A LOT of very “toxic” abilities when it comes to aram. Chromie slowing sands is one. Azmodan Q is another. Junkrat as a whole is another one. And we can keep listing a lot of “toxic” stuff in aram.
My point is, if we start removing them, soon we will have half the heroes and abilities there.

In that case, unban lava wave.

May as well. On ZJ, I can get stacks so fast that I can like 2-3 shot squishies and 5 shot tanks.
At that point, lava wave will just delay the inevitable.

i think lava wave is not too great unless all enemy team stand in it, but with ppl with brains it is enoiugh to walk to any side

Came here to say this.
Lava Wave wouldn’t be very good in aram. Even with short lane length it still gives the enemy team plenty of time to respond to it. At best it counters a push, at worst it does next to nothing.
Killing minions isn’t very impressive since having all 5 teammates standing next to each other means that waves don’t tend to last every long anyways, unless your team just completely neglected (or lacked the options) to pick aoe.
Also, sand pits can be played around. They’re very oppressive when playing from behind but in aram when you’re already behind you tend to not recover anyways.
Just don’t engage on the chromie’s terms, be aggressive without walking through her death field. Spread out and force her to lose ground and play on the defensive.
Playing defensively against chromie just gives her every advantage and lets her drop sand right in the middle of your gates, at which point you’re almost out of options.
Keep in mind that ARAM is not a balanced mode and games are usually won in the selection screen, assuming at least half your team knows what their hero does.
Playing into a Chromie+Zag is not a good time for any team unless you have something that can take the pressure or dish it right back.

I think one of the biggest advantages of lava wave is sending a wave down a lane where the enemies are not, forcing them to eventually allocate at least one person (open to a gank) to clear it. If they don’t, that lane will get riddled by your minions until they’re getting structures for free.
It’s the travel time and reallocation of manpower that makes it impactful but in ARAM, no one has to travel anywhere nor does manpower need to be allocated to respond to it. The enemy team is already there so they’re already there to clean up any minions that come knocking anyway.
I never thought lava wave was an issue. I think for ARAM, orbital BFG had more value in ARAM because it was like a lava wave you only had to cast once and then afk the rest of the game (not really, but at least you didn’t have to worry about your ult anymore). So even if you were dead, you’d still get continuous value from orbital BFG, unlike lava wave where you had to cast it to use it. So if dead, you can’t use it.
We’ve had so many threads just for lava wave and how busted it is or isn’t
That’s how I use it. Pressure and soak lanes on the other side of the map while pushing with team or fighting on objective and the value just adds up.
Occasionally use it to counter core pushes, having double charges ready when the enemy comes a’knockin can be really helpful in the right situations.
BFG was problematic when it hit buildings.
As soon as a game hit 20 Hammer’s team would just hunker down and let it do it’s thing while forcing you to engage on them. It puts you on a clock and your only option is to just play into their defense and hope you can overcome it.
Now that it only hits minions/players it’s the sniping tool it should have been. Still used to pressure-afk lanes but can be handy for some fast teamfight DPS.
And people really tend to forget about Orbital. I’ve seen it hit players so many times just because they’ll keep fighting in that area as it comes around again and they’re not looking at the minimap during teamfights.
The leash range before it automatically disappears could be reduced slightly, without hurting her too much in standard game mode. Temporal Loop is obviously the superior ult with a drastically higher pick rate.
The sands cover the gate area completely. So unless the enemy is dumb and destroys your side walls, you don’t have the option of avoiding it.

His complaints usually border on trolling (especially the constant ‘remove BHB’ weekly threads) but I do think both Lava Wave and Slowing Sands are toxic for ARAM due to the entire map being a tiny one lane brawl.
Both Lava Wave and Slowing Sands gain an extreme impact on a single lane map, which is likely why developers disabled Lava Wave from being selectable at level 10 while playing the mode.
Chromie herself is just fine for ARAM, though (ever since her rework years ago removing infinite Q stacks, extra range and piercing baseline at lvl 1).
I don’t know if I’d call her just fine. I don’t play Chromie much, I even forget to set and activate my traps. But I pick her in ARAM and I win…
She’s an advantage to have on your team in ARAM for sure, if the player is even remotely good at playing her.
If I’m not playing for fun and just ‘tryharding’ in a premade, she is a must pick
I never set up a Slowing Sand vortex between the enemy gates (in the front). I think that’s a scummy thing to do even while tryharding. And I don’t think that mechanism is fine.
Nothing is wrong when tryharding. Fighting fair means increasing the possibility of a loss. You NEVER want to fight fair. You want to sneak in at night and stab people in their sleep.

Ye I get why people complain about Chromie being able to have a nearly perma vortex on the ground that on top denie you if its used on areas with little space to move on. But really when I see people complain about Li-Ming or other range heroes then it just becomes trolling.
And spamming the usual remove X map from the game gets boring to read.

Not a full proof plan but if someone hates Chromie enough to make threads about it they might as well just start diving and see what happens.
Well, you can’t really dive her when you get big slows just by trying to leave the gates…
