Chromie ..... ok lets talk

Rehgar has a 54.1% winrate, and his pickrate is high enough to consider that winrate accurate and characteristic of his overall performance.

Fenix actually has a lower winrate than Rehgar right now, for perspective.

Considering that he was only in the high 40s percent range before he got self-Ancestral and “Lightning Bond” back, I’d say those two buffs likely pushed his Ghost Wolf build and corresponding diver playstyle over the top, as he is now able to keep himself alive much more easily by just self-Ancestral Healing himself whenever he gets dangerously low. His playstyle has always been a more aggressive one, and enabling that playstyle likely pushed it over the top.

Now, I’m no Rehgar expert, but I’d say in general they should either up his normal healing output but take self-Ancestral back away, tone down Rising Storm’s damage scaling, or take some of his damage away in exchange for more utility, such as making Earth Shield at least partially baseline.

I’m a pretty big fan of Anub’arak, but it’s pretty obvious he’s doing too well.

Honestly, I think the easiest and most sensible way to do that would just be taking away Rewind, but when was the last time Blizzard ever did things the easy and sensible way?

First off, the dataset is large enough it can be expected to be fairly representative of reality. In the past 7 days, approximately 31-32k Storm League and over 42k QM games have been logged, which is a huge sample size. Even if we give a extremely conservative estimate that only 50% of all games end up on HotsLogs, a sample size that big is fairly reliable, and going any larger would only give back diminishing returns on increased accuracy.

Second, most games do end up on HotsLogs. It only takes one person in a match to upload that game for all players data in that game to be logged, and there are 10 people who could possibly upload that game’s data. The chances of a game you play not being uploaded are pretty low.

Thirdly, when the devs do occasionally drop or share information from their internal data, they nearly always confirm HotsLogs’ own datasets. This has happened time and time again, and to my memory they have never said anything contradicting HotsLogs’ data.

So he wins every 5.42/10 games. Big woop. That’s far from broken or in need of nerfs. According to your source, Malthael is .9% behind Rehgar at 53.3% in storm league. That’s above a 50% winrate, and he’s fairly popular as far as “bruisers” are concerned, so surely he’s busted /s.

Rehgar is in a good spot right now. They should fix the under performing supports instead.

And Anub’arak’s 54.8% winrate written like that is “only” 5.48/10.

Reframing the data like that to give the appearance of lower performance than in reality is very disingenuous, and I expected better from you.

“Balanced” is usually considered anything between 48-52%.
“Overtuned” is 52-54%. “Undertuned” is 46-48%.
"Overpowered is anything above 54%. “Underpowered” is anything below 46%.

By that scale, Malthael falls into the “overtuned” range, but Rehgar falls into the “overpowered” range.
In fact, as I write this, Rehgar is statistically the best Healer in the game and is #4 overall.

It is not entirely unreliable the problem is whether the person interpreting it is actually capable to understanding this data properly, which evidently include in-game experience and knowledge. More so is the case when you’re trying to interpret data on ranks you simply do not encounter much or even play at, this is why for instance I avoid making statements about understanding bronze-gold since as soon as I moved on from that rank I never looked back and fortunate enough to not be ranked with them.

If you’re only going to be looking at the numbers and interpreting them without any experience this is how you end up as an arm-chair theorist. Not actually being on the field and experiencing it firsthand or even watching / coaching games makes a big difference in understanding how the trends and data translate – this is why for instance I often cite games or streams at the very least. There is evidently limitations if you’re only looking at numbers without the insight or experience to understand the entire picture, this is why statistics is accompanied by qualitative documentation (e.g. interviews, write ups, focus groups, etc).

:disappointed_relieved:

chromie seems to be an AA mage now , with a very clunky and inefficient tool kit.

some people like her , I personally feel she is very underwhelming and not fun to play at all.

as well as she almost seems to have zero impact on damage now, until lvl 20 when the game is practically over.

I mean… I see talk on the forums about new Chromie suffering weaknesses that just make Li-Ming… Li-Ming…

;>.>
<.<;

Useless talents? Got that.

Mana problems? Sure, got that. I pmuch still hearth b4 every obj if it’s far from lanes and/or the odds of the fight over obj being somewhat manageable length of time… Y’know what, just hearth for mana b4 obj lol. Just do it.

Utility? Lol.

Fight not going the way Li-Ming needs it to go? RIP. No feast? It’s famine.

Build diversity? I mean, we have… kinda like… 2 builds… ish. I guess.

One tiny Zul skeleton/Anub beetle in the LoS of you and your target? Ooof. Got a smart opponent that keeps minions between you and them? Double ooof.

Self-peel? A Timetrap to cast spells on top of would be nice… As it stands now let’s hope you can blink to the other side of a structure/terrain… Varian charge? Probably dead. I’m sure not going to win, escape is the only option (hopefully). Genji? Tracer? Xul? Anub? Valeera? Greymane? Missed one of my skill shots on an advancing enemy (Probably run regardless tbh)? Auto-Attack? Run.

I can technically wave clear. Li-Ming is a far cry from a solid wave clear hero though. Chromie is still better.

Grabbing merc camps? I mean kinda… I can ping on the map for Sonya/Artanis/Varian/Rexxar to let them know we need camps… anything past that is probably not a good idea unless you have eyes on all 5 enemies.

We have lazerz though, so put that in some column as a positive. Maybe?

Like from where I’m sitting, Chromie now just suffers from being a mage? Old Chromie with her 1-shot wombo-combo, no ground indicator, Bye-Bye, Bronze Dragonflight vision thinger, time trap etc… Even had superior range on Li-Ming… Li-Ming’s skillshots can be stopped by well, anything that has HP. Li-Ming’s spells can go through terrain sure, so can Chromie’s though.

Why is Li-Ming my favorite still, despite all of this? She’s the skill-shot hero, probably only behind Hanzo. Hanzo isn’t a mage though, and I always like mages in games.

u mean like chromie was ?

chromie was the ultimate SKILL shot hero.

u think its " feast or famine " with li-ming ? HAH it was like that 24/7 with chromie before the re-work.

To avoid that blizzard might get the wrong impressions here:
I enjoy the current Chromie. The best one out of all her latest reworks; the only one I like more than the current one is release Chromie.
Yes, she played rather differently than before, but she’s a lot of fun.

That is almost sad. Diablo is by far and wide best tank in the game and has been so for a very, very long time, with a breif pause when malganis was released. I am not sure what is worse, the fact that devs think he is bad or that you actually seem to agree with them. Arthas and etc are niche at best now, so them having high rate doesn’t make them best, they are just good at their niche and played by people who can understand the niche cases.

It’s rather common knowledge Li-Ming is representative of the entire feast or famine concept. Her trait/getting resets is feast or famine incarnate. I’ve seen players list it as the sole reason they don’t like to play her. Her true potential is realized only when she can reliably get resets.

Li-Ming has also been far and away moreso about skill shots than Chromie, Li-Mings shots have always been highly telegraphed since the start. This requires Li-Ming to successfully lead her target while they can see it coming the entire time.

Plus like I said, anything with HP (minion, Merc, Xul skele, Anub beetle) ruins your shot. Not so with old Chromie.

Even so, I still think Hanzo is the most skill dependent ranged in the game because of scatter-shot. Reliably landing those is pretty important.

I was more thinking teleport meta, and the “any other build that makes your team rage and report you for intentionally throwing” build :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, at least you’re willing to admit you don’t actually care about statistics and facts, especially if they prove your opinion wrong.

not even close.
just look at her winrate is 49% as of today .
