Cho'Gall Unlock Question

Hello, since Cho’Gall is on the Free Rotation and I couldn’t find any information regarding unlocking him in the heroes’ gamepedia, I would like to ask some questions about his purchase. Do you need to buy both heroes are just 1? Say do I need to buy Gall and Cho to unlock both or will I only have access to Gall if I buy him specifically?

Also, correct me if I’m wrong but I recall there was a thing where if you play with someone on Cho’Gall for a number of games you’ll automatically unlock them for free? Is that still a thing?

Thanks in advance.

You don’t need to buy both heroes. If you buy Cho, you will also unlock Gall. Same for Gall, if you buy him, you will unlock Cho.

You can’t unlock Cho’Gall for free anymore. 5 years ago there was a promotion. if you had a friend who had Cho’Gall unlocked, you could buddy up with them as one of the heads. If you won two games while playing as the character, you could unlock him for permanent use and could then turn around and help other players unlock him.

You don’t buy Cho or Gall, you buy Cho’Gall, so both Heroes are unlocked.

Iirc, the unlocking for free is long gone. But you can still play Cho/Gall if ypu play with someone who has them.

Important to know, if playing with a friend, only one of you needs to own Cho’Gall.

I play with friends who are little baby players and don’t have anyone unlocked, but since I have Cho’Gall we can still play him.

Cho’gall are one of the bigger heroes in the game, but same thing are buying (purchase) same hero because in the game have two hero are Cho being Tank & Gall being Ranged Assassin, though I took about Rexxar are half-breed Ogre-Orc the group having Rehgar instead for closest amount.

Also, if Cho+Gall are on free rotation (and neither of you own them), you can pick Cho or Gall, and your friend can instantly pick the other one even if they are level 0-10 and can’t access all free rotation heroes yet.

Because when 1 person has a valid lock on either Cho or Gall, a green circle instantly appears for the other player indicating it’s available as a pick too (even though the hero itself is greyed out).

I figured it might happen occassionally, as it’s usually a hero people play with friends.
And usually newer accounts can’t play free rotation heroes meant for “upper low levels” (CG being an exception).

I played some Chogall with newer players (with the newbie on Gall), there is very little chance of them ruining anything as long as they play Gall.
