Cheating is everywhere

Game is down because of cheaters. Not only map hacks, just low skilled cheaters/exploiters.

That is the sad truth.

The core of the game is peer to server and can’t be hacked.

There are map hacks that remove the fog of war (client side) But even those get patched.

You can’t change movespeed, mana, hp, damage etc. or the engine desyncs you instantly from the other players.

Where did you get that knowledge? That’s interesting how you deny such truth… Cheating is everywhere in HOTS.

Ok, explain what kind of cheating and hacks with the included replays. Usually people who are asked to supply those just fade away.

OK, explain how we are all living such stump or be stumped matches ? Like, everyone around ?

The game is not the same since 6 months. What did you do ? Perhaps you did great things that’s nor the point, just tell us what you did for real? The game is not the same. MM gives not the same results.

This game has been known that it was built off of the Starcraft 2 engine since it’s inception.

There are topics decades old that discuss the networking issues of HotS. HotS’ connections run a ‘simulation’ of player inputs, that’s why replay files are small, it’s why disconnections have to ‘replay’ the game to reconnect to the match, and it’s why map hacks can work (since the map information is ‘known’, fog of war is added afterward) and other types of cheats don’t since the replay/simulation would crash if the game can’t replication the results based on player inputs.

The usual farcry for ‘cheating’ comes from people who don’t know how things work, find something else to blame, and pretend no one else could possible know, so they refuse to post evidence of their experience to see if ‘cheating’ was actually involved.

It doesn’t help that peopl think the minimap is cheating, stutterstepping is cheating, and soak xp (to get a power advantage) in also cheating. The ‘cheating is everywhere’ tends to come from players that think the only explanation for them losing a game is because the game ‘forced’ them to lose, or someone was ‘cheating’ despite their inability to explain how much of anything in any game works.

There are some bugs in these games, some people look to intentionally exploit bugs (like Medivh when he had crow-form casting, or Hogger out-of-bounds) but when someone complaints with a default of “everyone is cheating” it usually indicates a lack of skill and information, especially if they’re resistant to providing ‘proof’ of their claim.

Course, for people that don’t actually know what ‘proof’ entails, it’s easier for them to assume no one else can know what they don’t know since they don’t know.

somehow this is true. Some teams map awereness is just sick, Like they know which bush are u, all abilities got 95% acuracy, which is not normal.

Strange how you are producing walls of text on every topic but not this one :

And then you write, with confidence, that Map hack does not exist ? Botting does not exist ? Exploiting, by PL, by thriving on every bug around, does not exist ? Oh ! Yeah, I read you; exploiting the game mechanics is not cheating by your standards. It may not suit your narrative, but exploiting does is cheating.

But that is not at all what Xenterex said. He precisely said map hacks exist for HotS because they are client side only. Exploits like the Medivh raven damage exploit were very real, but also patched fast.

Nothing else can be hacked in this game because the SC2 engine desynchronizes you the moment you try to feed the server data that doesn’t match the data other 9 players are reporting to it (like your movespeed, HP and so on).

Don’t you think there would be at least one video in all of Youtube of a HotS damage hacker, speedhacker etc. in 11 years if it was possible?

What about the thread I quoted ? “QoL” cheats for UI are not feeding data on server side.

Having a visual overlay for every heros AA range is definitely cheating, but it’s a crutch for rather bad players.

Good players are already familiar with the AA ranges of various heroes. It doesn’t modify the game in any way. It is not a hack.

This issue has become mostly noticeable because of the influx of Chinese players on the Americas and especially the European servers.

The “stomp fest” is mostly due to:

  • Players not knowing how to recover from a level disadvantage.
  • By design so that games end reasonably quickly.

Especially coupled with the first point this can result in quite short games. There are opportunities to try and recover but they can go past very quickly if you do not take them and it just doubles down on the winning team if you fail them.

Cheating and hacking in HotS is client sided and usually done through the packet requests which the server has to agree with before processing to the rest.

Map hacks work because server streams all locations of all units to every client, even if they aren’t on the map (they still keep getting updates).

But honestly, cheating isn’t that standard here and it won’t take you far before you realize there’s like a massive skill gap, and most exploits are patched pretty quickly to justify them as alarming.

The HotS server does not stream state at all. It streams instructions which all clients use to deterministically update state. Map hacks are possible because all clients need to know all state at all times. This is how lock-step style multiplayer operates.

The server does not actually know the positions of all units as it does not need to keep track of the game state. It purely acts as a coordination server for instructions.

That’s certainly one way to read the English language. It’s not the correct way, but it is a way.

Definitely an oversight from me. TL;DR

I read all the words here though:

I does exist but it’s pretty rare to my experience. Most people that you may consider as map hack users are people simply predicting where could be the missing player on the map. I have studied some replays myself to finally find out at the end that the player i have been suspecting just acted with luck, yet i’ve also checked other replays where the player was obviously map hacking, but as I said it was extremely rare.

I know they are people using auto aim softwares, i’ve a friend who have a clip of it with the enemy reacting at the 1st frame he had an enemy in sight, casting all his spells with 100% accuracy.

I think the most common abuse on that game are people using bots, it fools most players but when you look closely at their reactivity and actions, you can notice some unhuman behaviours and redundancies. Of course bots are bad and they seem to only exist to farm XP, win or lose (but mostly lose). I don’t know why this exists on that game, personally I believe in rare cases that some people might be training AI on that game to improve their skill in that domain. (I have personally 1 account in mind on EU which I know that is a bot but it’s technically advanced compare to other bots, it’s still bad but it’s harder to notice that it is not simply a terrible player).

My last game tonight in aram had a player, shuey or cheuy, idk how to pull replays have insane dragon uptime as alexstrava and then had unlimited R life link usage to push the team through both forts ans through the core. Cheating is here

Red Alex can maintain Dragon forever after completing the quest.
That’s not a cheat, it’s a talent.

R Life link has tripple trigger at lvl 20.
That’s not a cheat, it’s a talent.
