Hello everyone.
I am a veteran HOTS player. I have been playing ranked games for many years, but I would like to report something that has recently started to happen with the end of matchmaking in the recent game updates.
This is causing an unusual trolling effect.
In the past, when a player wanted to troll another player, he basically had to be in a rank close to the target. And then he would troll. Usually, these trolls would appear to troll streamers and get their 15 minutes of fame by making them angry (killing themselves, going afk and other types of trolling that don’t need a chat to be reported). Since punishments for going afk or killing yourself on purpose take longer to be carried out, it causes a great feeling of impunity.
Even though there is a department to analyze these complaints at Blizzard, the truth is that there is a consensus that reporting a player for going AFK or dying on purpose “doesn’t lead to anything”. Even more so after the entire Brazilian Blizzard team ceased to exist, which is sad and worrying.
Today, it is no longer necessary to be at a high rank to troll a Platinum/Diamond player.
You just need to have an account and enter ranked. As a result, we are seeing a high number of matches in which a player picks Leoric and stands still in the enemy base dying. 10, 11, 15 times in 8 minutes.
Inspecting some accounts, I noticed that some were trolling for more than 8 hours a day. I myself reported some of them several times a few days ago, but I keep seeing these accounts falling for me (or against me) and trolling.
The difference between these players and the old ones is that now they troll EVERY game. No distinction.
Since higher-ranked players value their rank, they feel more disadvantaged because they still try to play, even with a team member standing still inside the enemy base dying over and over. It’s worth remembering that these players weren’t provoked or anything like that. I tried to talk to one of them who told me he didn’t want to explain why he did it, that it would be a waste of time to explain every time he did it, but that he wanted to lose quickly.
Please Blizzard, if anyone still works on Heroes of the Storm, please fix the matchmaking in South America.
This will stop self-killing players from getting matched with higher ranked players.
Many people are simply giving up playing because falling with these suicidal Bronze 5s is simply ruining the few matches we have in SA.
We have few people playing on the Brazilian server at the moment. And these players are pushing away the few active ones because we are waiting for a hotfix to return to ranked as before.
