So, I was playing with a friend. I looked at his build and told him he may want to go for “Burn the Impure” or " “Impaling Light” Lvl 1 since he was picking “Holy Fervor” Lvl 7.
I can’t see any reason to pick both since both are for waveclear. (And I’m just generally not a fan of "Wrath of the Angiris") But he told me a master player gave him that build. I can’t for the love of me figure out what this build does. And it didn’t seem that efficient in our games.
Anyone got an idea?

It is similar to the build Emski uses in Div C, and he is close to being an Imperius one-trick, even on double soak maps like Towers of Doom. It is actually a lot stronger for offlane Imperius than the “standard” tank/bruiser builds.

I looks like a mix of waveclear and duelist build.
Holy Fever is procced by using E, so getting E cdr means more ‘free’ Holy Fever. Even if it’s just against 1 target, it’s still boosted aa damage, so W slows/isolates a hero before/after Heroic isolates the target and it focuses the E/trait procs on one unit.
I feel like it’d be better to take the %damage at 1 instead for better isolated damage for all the wanted E procs on AA as otherwise building around W poke or Angiris is better with the active teleport at 16 imo.
edit note: it’s probably akin to building Q/aa kerrigan: you don’t use the combo as much so enemy players that are fixate on dodge the stun. They keep waiting and waiting for the stun to not come, so they end up taking bad damage trades instead.

it is, but it also has its own separate. if you use it and his e you get it six times. I play a lot of imp this is actually his biggest brawler build. His lv 1 unless you are going for offtank is really just preference as both are good and perform high burst damage. The entire point of that build is basically that he can get as many marks claimed as possible and fight for a bit longer. Arguably at 7 holy fervor is just his best lv 7. It gives him massive clear and massive improves his brawling/sustain so long as he can actually get in on the marks. Since he also took wrath of anguris lv 20 his lv 7 gets mass value at resetting his ult too. Honestly thats the build i usually take regardless of whether i’m running imp as the AA or the offlaner because it does lots of damage while still providing clear and sustain.

No, it’s just that the enemies were moving.
even in the case that they had two roots and malganis CC(Frankly don’t trust other malgs who aren’t me,but) you had a cleanse and blaze to get in multiple slows and a valla. If he was missing his AA’s it was most likely a skill issue. Cause he has multiple ways of fixing that from changing how he engages to who he engages on and that team gives plenty of variety for him. If he had gone spear build i suspect he would have missed even more seeing as how being in AA range is an auto and spear is a skill shot.
I play this build most of the time on Imperius. I take burn the impure depending on how bulky their team is. I’ll take the W if they are mobile or if I want more spell damage like if i’m against an Illidan or something. No idea why you would take the Q level one with this though and would only take that with flash of anger at level 7. I’ll sometimes take the shield ult and sometimes swap the 20 as well, usually for Impervious if they have a lot of cc.
I said it in another thread but I think this is his best build.
You do a lot of damage, especially at 16 when you can drop opponents armour (which also helps your allies do more damage to the target). Have good waveclear and can even take elite camps.
All of his power isn’t in his Q in this build and you can chunk down something hard to Q like a tracer no problem.
I like his kidnap ult especially against something like Zul Jin Tazdingo. Sounds like I land it a more than your friend though.
Ult into W Q E auto is a fun combo that does tones of damage. I fondly remember an Illidan hunting me when I was defending our core from catapults and deleting him with it recently. The level 20 is good as well with the cooldown and hp/mana regen saves your life and keeps you in the fight sometimes and more kidnaps is always good.

I once drug a stitches quite literally halfway across the map because he kept letting me get a full reset and was terrible at dodging.

Lvl 1 for stronger PvE, better poke, better soft CC, less reliability on combo.
The “Grab” is the better Heroic.
Holy Fevor for waveclear and for tankiness and dmg. Especially good against multi melee.
E build buffs Holy Fevor and kinda makes it perma. So you don’t need Solariom’s Brand.
I see no issue with this build.

Aren’t mobile heroes harder to hit with W? I struggle to hit a Lunara or Tracer with W for example. And I can only tag Tracer with Q if she’s busy focusing someone else. For Illidan it’s even harder.
Yeah, I can see how as ZJs usually stand still during Taz Dingo. Though I usully interrupt it with Q. But does the Ult cancel Taz Dingo when it lands?
Usually with that lvl 1 you start with Q (from fog of war) and THEN W, so it’s easy to hit and they cannot walk/run away.
Would anyon use Imperius with that build on Infernal shrines?
Well the W level 1 increases the slow if you hot them with the centre so I meant it makes it easier to land your Q or team to follow up on them of you land it.
Im not sure of the exact interaction or if it causes it to time out in the air but often when I land Zul Jin will die from the ult because they tend to have low hp when they tazdingo.
Like I said I don’t have much of an issue landing kidnap ult, I miss some sure i’d say I probs hit arounf 3 in 4.
There are plenty of easy times to land it and the extra dlow on the W on 1 helps as well. Obvious ones off top of my head Anduin heal ult, Naz spooky ghost, brightwing, Azmo casting E, following up on cc like zag maw or meis slow/stun. If you fire it into 3 plus bodies bunched up theres a reasonable chance ull land it. Land it on their tank as a counter engage, taking their tank out fof fight for a few seconds especially if you have Q ready to go and burn the impure level 1 can be powerful.
My 2 main solo laners are Leo and Imp and i’m confident in most match ups with them. I prefer to pick Leo into Zul Jin or Tychus though because of being able to ult them during Taz or Minigun.
His cleave level 7 also buffs his auto attack damage so boosts his single target output as well. Landing W on 2 to 3 enemies then cleaving them big a o e damage.
Just give it a try i’m sure it will only take you a couple of games to wrap your head around it. I have hundreds of games on imp on a Q build variation but this is my preffered way to play him most of the time now.
I suppose for wave clearing and removing marks from everyone. I also take the first talent for W , it hath a very large burst and a powerful slowdown, which also maketh it easier for PvP - using auto attacks, as well as spears too (if ye need it). As for levels 7 and 13, I personally prefer the spear, and at level 20 either shields for everyone or permanent marks. By the way, at 16 I would advise this person to additionally take the spear (it giveth attack and movement speed), and at 20 to improve the marks.
