So, the MVP screen just demonstrated why the whole MVP screen should be removed from game.
We had a Butcher who did nothing by PVE. LESS THAN 1000 HERO DAMAGE BEFORE WE LOST. Yet, he was in the MVP list for doing 44% structural damage. The Butcher player NEVER engaged on the objective and basically threw the game. And still, Blizzard puts him on the MVP list.
How can anyone argue not to pull the plug on the MVP screen when this happens?
He was on the screen, he was not THE mvp. And yeah, you can be on mvp screen even if you do nothing all game just because of little things like âmore silence timeâ etcâŚ
Getting structure damage on a non-structure damage hero, ESPECIALLY butcher who SHOULD of been actual MVP for the 50+ hero kills and no deaths he SHOULD of been doing⌠He should not feel pride for getting that, right up there with âmost escapesâ and âmercenary capturesâ.(which is kinda sad cause the MVP system seems to rate Merc caps super high as I can usually get on the board for taking 4-5 when my team barely takes any.)
I think the award screen at the end only fuels the agenda to make people need praise for every little thing they did.
I used to only see âMy kid graduated from collegeâ during summer breaks, now it is so sad, I see âMy kid graduated from elementary schoolâ. If you think graduating from elementary school is a big deal - you are part of the problem.
Just like the 7th place trophy. There should only be 1 trophy, and that is for 1st place. Winners get stuff. Losers need to try harder.
OP never said that tho, read the topic. He is saying how the mvp SCREEN encourages people to play bad, like that butcher never helped the team, just sieged a lane forever but made it to the mvp screen, and that might make him think he was doing ok.
That may be true, for an infinitesimally small portion of the player base.
I personally think that the person playing Butcher isnât a good player, which is not a result of the MVP screen.
What this is about, more likely, is that the OP was extremely mad about the Butcher to the point where he actually thinks winning an accolade despite losing the match was rewarding the Butcher.
High siege damage + high XP + low deaths gets you MVP a lot easier.
When I play Ragnaros, I donât top hero dmg. Like ever. I donât suicide, so I have no or lowest deaths. So whenever I pick Lava wave, I MVP.
You don,t even have to be good with Symbiote. If the hat is on someone while a kill is secured, you get the assist. That added to your other stats get you to the MVP screen.
if you had a hat on someone while in a team fight then you went into PVP. what i said was if abathur stayed PVE only he couldnt do it. this is because of how the formula works.
We canât know without a replay, everyone had a game or two where your team folds so fast you are stuck soaking xp without having a say in anything because you are one or two men down before you even attempt to rotate.
MVP is mostly down to just 2 things: takedowns and time spent dead. And thats exactly why its a bad system. Time spent doing objectives is not considered at all.
This means that to get MVP you need to be there in most teamfights, but always be sure to back off the moment it goes bad (but still remain close enough to be considered an assist).
Is there an objective? Ignore it
Is your fort being attacked by a large group of minions? Ignore them
Does a lane require soaking? Dont go to that lane
And that are basicly 3 things that would make you a horrible teammate, especialy when its a difficult match. The only moment these 3 things can be somewhat ok is in vs AI as the AI is horrible enough that it allows you to do those things. But even there, its most of the time bad.
Itâs possible in some cases. If your teamates die a lot due to being outnumbered. And you hat/clone the last teamfight to a win. Youâll have no deaths and high xp plus high siege, so you will MVP.
There is this master/GM player who sometimes plays live on stream. He shares the passion for FRESH MEAT to an extent I was able to convince him to play Butcher in his ranked games a few times.
In one HL draft, the enemy 2nd or 3rd pick locked Butcher out of nowhere on Battlefield of Eternity. The streamer got pissed off by the pick and as 4th/last pick locked in Cassia. When the game went into loading screen we saw it was a rainbow game and the Butcher player was a gold 1 Butcher main with a Butcher mastery portrait. The streamer, still upset about the Butcher pick steal, started dissing that player saying âHaha this guy probably thinks heâs going to carry this game by playing his comfort pick; Iâm gonna make this guy never want to play Butcher againâ. Master/GM Cassia vs the golden Butcher main, this is going to be the battle of the century!
Long story short, the gold 1 Butcher became the FRESH MEAT all game and never got above 25 meat. He was forced to lane for minion meat in the few chances he had and had to do camps when there was nothing else left to do. The streamerâs team won in a brainless stomp and in the MVP screen the Butcher lo and behold was on it with the headhunter (merc camps done) award and the streamer decided to rub it in his face even further by voting for him, in fact 3 other players felt the same way and voted for the Butcher as well. There is no doubt that the Butcher player was instrumental in the streamerâs victory. Butcher MVP.
