Bring Bethesda characters to HotS

Nope

Item systems (huge and complicated in dota, more simple and straightforward in smite and even gives you an option to auto buy for new players with passive and active items having their own slots and the talent system in hots)

Role systems (supports work differently in dota and hots while Smite supports are usually a tank or dps with additional utility, case and point Yemoja and Ra)

All the ways camps work and don’t work (In Dota they’re purely xp outside of Roshan, Smite camps give players buffs, xp and even fog to hide themselves in, hots camps fight for you)

Maps (Dota has one big map with no obj other than beat the other payer, Smite has multiple pvp oriented maps, one being an arena just for fighting, a classic moba map and a one lane map, meanwhile hots has a variety of objective oriented maps that are all unique)

And even picking less universal things like Smite’s camera, phoenix system and how aa’s work and HotS’s leveling and structures. There’s just a lot of mechanics to work with so it’s possible to make an original MOBA if you really try.

Why would I pick any other Smash game over the actual Smash Bros with like 90 characters, 103 stages (with multiple versions too mind you) and other content. They all have 20 characters at most with usually very simple stages, worse physics and just overall like 10 times less stuff. There’s no new mechanics either, since there’s not much to work with in the first place. I’ll just play Smash while these games fall into obscurity in less than a year. As much as I like Catdog or Sackboy or Steven it just doesn’t look worth it to me.

Edit: typo

Tell me the most interesting thing about any one character in Skyrim?

Please deathwing vs alduin make it real lmao

If Microsoft were to pour a lot of money into HotS at the cost of adding non-Blizzard title characters and stuff, then I’m all for it.

Something is better than nothing.

I kinda like the idea that the last hero they ever release is Hogger, a comedic joke meme character, which perfectly encapsulates how much of a joke and a meme this game is.

I sincerely hope they don’t release another hero so we can keep that glorious poetic justice as this games legacy.

Miraak could have an ability to do dragon shouts in the game (hots).
Ahzidal has his Fire Stream spell, and can raise a body of a Draugr to aid him.
The Forgemaster breathes a gout of fire. The fire it breathes will also linger on the ground for some time.
Krosis Has a fireball staff and his summoned Atronach.
Arch-Curate Vyrthur In battle, he uses ice magic. Spells such as Icy Spear in addition to a unique variant of Vampiric Drain that also drains [stamina} which could be converted to draining mana in hots. He also typically summons a Frost Atronach.
And this is just off the top of my head.

This didn’t answer the question. Instead you listed off basic skills of multiple characters.

Everything you did mention is not special or interesting. It’s contrived.

Try again.

If Microsoft assumes control of Blizzard in 2023/24, Hots will then be almost a decade old. I have to agree with you that the age of Hots alone would make it unlikely for MS to pour more money into it.

Right now everything is speculation, we can all hope, but aside from that nobody knows how this will all pan out.

Need an oblivion guard skin for varian.
STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM

That would be absolutely beautiful for Taunt Varian.

Even if Microsoft decides to put some life back into HotS, it will be over 2 years before we see anything.

The article about the buyout said it will be 18 months before the sale is complete (buying/selling publicly traded companies is a very long process) and then once the sale is complete, it will take more time for Microsoft to sort out and reassign any assets the want to start moving around. And finally, creating new content takes time. In the past Blizzard has said that it takes 6-8 months to make a new hero.

(And no, Blizzard can’t start making a Microsoft Hero now, “knowing that the sale is coming”. That is VERY illegal.)

Microsoft could revive HotS in Form of Version 3.0:

  • New engine
  • New AI
  • better graphics
  • More Heroes

  • New non-skeezy company employees

The only hope we have is if someone at MS was personally a fan of HOTS and has a really good idea for it. Otherwise, no one is going to stick their neck out to suggest to put money into a 10yr game that never caught on in the first place.

Long shot would be over stating it.

The main thing we can hope for is that they keep it in maintenance mode even.

Our problem was originally they barely put any effort into this game. Cant hope they put energy into it now.

Too bad because I loved this game, especially when they put in ARAM.
