Braxis Beacon Changes?

Recently (this patch? last patch?) they changed the Braxis Holdout beacon deactivations so that you don’t have to stand on the beacon for the whole time to deactivate it from your opponent… now you just have to tag it/ stand on it for a half second and it’ll automatically deactivate the beacon back to the neutral state, even after you walk off. It also deactivates back to neutral if both teams are standing on it, rather than the original status of it not moving from its current tug-of-war position (which was just like when two teams were fighting over a camp or boss activation). Any idea why it was changed? I can’t imagine that the Zerg rush objective happened so frequently that Blizzard felt a need to make it even harder to complete.

It’s been that way for several months now. Maybe even a year.

This change happened a while ago, it’s been a few months actually.
They made several changes to it on 2018-07-10 because it was known amongst the playerbase as the most snowball-y map.

Battleground Updates

  • Beacons
    • Now become contested immediately when Heroes from both teams are on the point.
  • Zerg Waves Undocumented
    • The baseline zerg wave has been strengthened significantly.
      • This should encourage teams to split up in order to defend against an incoming zerg wave, rather than send all five players to attack with an allied wave.
      • Base wave increased from 6 zerglings to 10 zerglings, 2 hydralisks, 1 guardian, and 1 ultralisk.
  • Beacon Progress Bars Undocumented
    • The progress bars in the lower-right corner of the screen have received visual updates to coincide with the above changes.
    • Total beacon capture time increased from 30 seconds to 37.5 seconds.
      • Time between 2% intervals increased from 0.6 seconds to 0.75 seconds.
  • Structures Undocumented
    • Damage to zerg waves increased by 75%.

Because team have first obj this map most time lead win, change like that make slow down snowball game

Exactly. This was a very good change, no longer can you just park Misha there and get a free 50% on the zerg counter. Also the total timer required for 100% was increased to 37.5 seconds (from 30) which makes early game comebacks much easier.
