Blizzard Subscription

Would you pay a Blizzard subscription (Similar to WoW price) but you get access to all Blizzard games and this in return gets the developers at Blizzard to treat all games equally and develop them all, with updates?

Nope… nothing worth a subscription on their platform.

Since MS bought them, wouldn’t it make more sense to just put their games in XBox pass (or whatever that’s called)?

Once the deal actually goes through, of course

Basically it was my original idea some time ago as well, so in short, yes.

Pricing is difficult due to varying income levels, also on my end once you have multiple collections, i.e. I’m paying for cable, Youtube, HBO Max (Go), Steam stuff, off-Steam stuff (GW2). And that’s without a family. Since I can’t actually use all these services, there is a point where I want to start juggling and it gets too complicated. I could also just play DotA instead.

That’s why I’m currently skipping WoW and Audible.
There is a (low) price I’d pay for those, but at a certain level of competition it isn’t worth it. (Adding +1 service reduces the use of others.)

Anyway, (meant to be helpful) excuses aside, I think it would be a superior solution, yes.

I’d like to add that bundling up products to a sub has its ups, which are downs to some.
I have already paid so much for BC (license and almost a year of sub in 2008, then 39€ this past year) that I don’t see why I should pay even more for it, especially as I don’t want to play much. And really, I shouldn’t. But a bit of support here and there, I would be okay with, say, 2€/month. The next bit should go to HotS, I’d love seasonal map skins.

Of course to someone only playing Heroes this is a straight blocker. Instead of paying a nominal sum, they have to pay premium. For I don’t actually believe that Blizzard would offer a full range basic sub for 5€/month. Although the XBox Pass is about 8 and considering all that offers, I guess it’s nice. Except the competitive part. Still.

They’ve honestly dropped too far on my personal trust level for something subscription based. I’m just talking about the management end of the company that constantly makes decision for short term profit at the expense of the customers. There were just too many let downs.

As mentioned, people brought up Xbox pass, or Blizz pass in this case, before. Depends on how it is set, for how much, but yes, I’m willing to be open-minded.

For example, access to all Blizz games, how? Game like WoW is pretty self-explanatory, HotS, HS, not so much. For HotS, if all heroes are unlocked, I would see it more positively (then again, smurfs or trolls from banned account with new account could be rampant, so some system overhaul is needed, their lootbox, skin stuff too). For HS, I have less idea how they would even approach it. Unlock all cards? Yeah, right. Haven’t played HS and kept up with the news for years now, but I’m pretty sure HS still makes crap ton of money from packs sale.

As for the price, skimmed through Xbox pass, price seems appropriate enough (that I’m willing to pay). Slightly over than what I expected as I don’t plan on playing much Blizz games other than HotS and perhaps HS, but still ok.

Don’t know how it will be for f2p players or students though. Does it have family pass or something? Don’t want playerbase to reduce just because minors can’t play Blizz games.

Looking at the existing options across games, I identify…
a) Basic : Access to all games.
b) P2W  Accelerated progress (boost, gems, tickle currency, magic find, name your game), some of which grants free unlocks.
c) Trading tier  where, positively speaking, being a pillar of the community can pay dividends: free sub, free unlocks. A- or B++ depends on your role played.

Normal people should get B by design.
Kids, poor and fiddling people usually get A.
If one can’t afford A then either it’s too high horse expensive or the person should reconsider their priorities anyway. (Most people fail, but that’s beyond the point.)

During transition Blizz can hand out some goodies for those who paid in the past.

I do enjoy the unlock process in these games.
Hero cost is more about gatekeeping in my mind: buy, practice, repeat.

WoW got a sub but just look how trash they are towards thier playerbase.

MS said that’s what they are planning.

I know nothing of Game Pass or other suscription models, how are F2P games treated within that system, if at all?

I know league has a gamepass for events to get extra rewards. Also most skins/heroes are a bit hard to farm and takes some time, so people end up buying with money.

No. Trust issues aside, why should I pay subscriptions for games like OW and Diablo 3 that I already paid cash to play/own. I have also spent too much money on Hots over the years, I don’t see why I should have to pay a sub for a F2P game that I’ve already supported.

This is basically what gamepass is.

Free games shouldn’t be a part of it because it technically doesn’t matter anyway since they’re free. If anything you’re making people pay for a free to play game since you’d be required to have the subscription for games that are “free to play”

I don’t believe xbox gamepass has free to play games in gamepass’s library for this reason. If you go to the xbox store there is a free to play section. None of those games require gamepass such as fortnite, warzone, rocketleague, etc.

idk y u would want a sub for just 1 game u play? if i find a game i like, i tend to play it for a while. so if i buy it i get my money out of it, a sub means i would just pay more. if the devs need to be supported, they should have come sort of shop. then make the shop so u want to buy stuff out of it. gw2 a great example of this, b2p game with a shop that is buy to make pretty or stuff that makes life easier in game.

I am not for paying a sub but I am trying to make the game developed and popular again and I was just thinking its probably the only way Blizzard will dedicate developers to it. What ideas do you have to fix this?

Don’t everyone hate me here but I think it would be ok if the Xbox game pass were to give you access to every hero or something like that.

no thanks . Riot games gives you good games for free and it is doing much better than blizzard . it is even worse after what was done to wow .

Depends on the 2nd majority of upgrades serve different niches but some are cool

Advertise it then. This game needs to be known more.

No, why pay 100% of a subscription when I basically only play 1-2 of their titles. (Diablo and HotS). As someone already stated, there are no Blizzard games worthy of subscription, heck there are NO games today worthy of a subscription.
