Personally I’d phrase it as: “Those in power in Russia are ordering the killing of civilians and bombing of countries.” Essentially it boils down to the same thing. Ukrainian’s like Dr. Logan don’t have the luxury to quibble with semantics or “view things from both sides” as they are literally being invaded.

Thou are mistaken. Sanctions are imposed only to deter the development of the country, not to prevent war. On the contrary, sanctions can provoke war.

Isn’t he/she thou? I mean no offence and I really understand the rough times Logan must be experiencing down there.
But experiencing that doesn’t mean it’s black and white, good and evil. Support for both sides exists… If you believe in freedom of speech they should be allowed to voice their opinion without getting called murderer and other such labels.
People are exploring and analyzing perspectives… As people should. It’s the most rational thing you can do apart from directly aiding civilians from both sides.
I don’t think Invasion is right, but I also don’t believe the western media as to the reasons for the invasion cuz it’s too “cinematic”. The western media Sounds like it’s taken right out of a plot from a movie. Sounds way too unrealistic. So I explore and analyze, as do MANY others… Donate aid instead of silencing perspectives if you want to help the civilians in a meaningful way.

Don’t listen murderer’s propaganda: the true fact is that a country has initiated a barbaric invasion into another country in the XXI century, and menaced every other country (that wants to help to stop the invasion) with a nuclear retaliation.

Critical media have been banned in russia, people who demonstrate against war are thrown into prison or worse, even for calling the word “war” you will get punished. Are you really trying to justify children and women being raped daily and civilians being bombed for the only reason that the dictator does not accept ukraine being independend?
Now Putin is even threating Finland with nuclear bombing in case they consider joining the NATO. How can anyone support this???
And all the “whataboutism” concerning your list of countries allegedly being bombed by the US… how does that - even if it was true - change anything about how wrong this invasion right now is?

If you want to use the “propaganda” argument, try to first consider the same on your own argument before calling the other side “propaganda”.
Both sides use Propaganda HEAVILY. It’s extremely naive to suggest that one side doesn’t.
Because it shows hypocrisy by the leading Superpower. “Whataboutism” isn’t about denying that there is an invasion. It’s about the fact that the world was silent and even endorsed all those War crimes that Gréine mentioned.
“Hypocrisy” being the key word here.
It’s like they’re saying: “No No No, YOU don’t get to invade… YOU have no right to invade. WE invade and destroy nations however way we want. YOU just sit there and accept that we will eventually do the same to YOU”.
Let me give you 2 highlights of “Wrong” invasions.
USA → Iraq → Other side of Planet → No threat
Russia → Ukraine → Outside Moscow → “Question mark”

They’re both wrong… but the US are hypocrites.

Are you sure you understand? I can’t say I do as I’ve not experienced such an unimaginable thing. My Grandfather fought in WW2 and was imprisoned in one of the most infamous Japanese run prisoner of war camps, Changi.
He told few stories about it and I most remember that he admirably never displayed any resentment towards the people of Japan. What I do remember clearly though is when people were talking about the war he would often say:
“Don’t talk about it if you weren’t in it.”
This sentiment wasn’t unique to my Grandfather and while I’m not trying to shut you down, I believe we shouldn’t talk about the plight of the Ukraine here on a video game forum, especially as we aren’t personally suffering the effects of the invasion.
My circle of friends and family what we do is fund raise to donate money to help Ukrainian refugees. I feel that’s a better use of my time than debating geopolitics on a video game forum.

You forget that the armed coup in Ukraine in 2014 led to an aggravation of relations between Russia and Ukraine. And every year the new leadership of Ukraine, which was appointed, only intensified this aggravation. Imagine that in front of your face for several years they will shake their fists and insult you, how long can you endure this.
Why the conflict was brought to this stage, there was a peace plan to resolve differences, and it was called the Minsk agreements. But the leadership of Ukraine did not go according to the peace plan, but along the path of increasing tension. Which country will benefit from this? I do not think that it was beneficial to Russia and Ukraine.

I understand what you mean and you’re right that this forum isn’t really the right place to be having such discussions.
I just felt the need to reply to some writers trying to portray this conflict as black and white, good and evil when It’s not that simple.
They should also silence players endorsing hatred/genocide against other people.
Many players has been frustrated for simpler things like trolling in-game and gotten a silence for venting out.
Silenced for Lesser things…
Hate/genocide preaching like this should be met ALOT more strictly. Heck I think this topic should be locked to prevent further such hate preachers.
