Ok, Karabars, do the following thing: enter the general chat latin server during the night, look for the names example Mat ador Five, Ch ap, Zile an zoeiro, Dont zin, among others (all +80-90% win rate quick match)… some of them are (or were) my contacts, and I already participated in these stomps with them, many times… the whole night stomping everybody. It’s pathetic. The difference is that I appreciate the challenge, I like the difficulty, and I got tired of playing in a stack on that server. But they are still there, every day, stomping everyone. They are all + diamond / master like me … I am making this alert here in a constructive way, because I see that this is destroying the game. Most people don’t say anything, they just leave.
I copied the names, now pls remove them so you don’t break any forum rules. Would be bad to get action taken against you for something like this.
what do you suppose karabars can do about that? nothing
i play on latam
the problem is latam server is low pop so people like m**dor and his buddies can go on endless win sprees
you cant fix a problem of this size unless you inject a million more players into latin america, its an unsolvable problem
you know what happens on bigger servers for such a dia party? they run into master parties and start losing, like they are supposed to
this isnt a party problem, its a problem of latin america being dead just like australia
Im not posting this to karabars do something about… im posting to alert Blizzard.
alert to what? they will spend 50 million dollars on ads to create new players for brazil?
it cant be solved, only way to remove these smurfs or diamond stacks from winning 98% is for them to have real competition, and that can only happen on a large server like eu
no players = no competition = dia stack wins 98% and drives away all lower ranks
To what? Idk. Just alerting, cuz i want… I’m free to write here.
Dude everybody knows you’re right thats how the game should have been made but playerbase is too small and premades cant wait to get thier free wins vs teams that cant fight back.
What the hell is it with you people and ads? On the one hand you talk about how foolish it is to dump money into creating an e-sports scene as it’s supposed to develop organically, on the other you keep ascribing the game’s failure on lack of marketing/advertisement as if you started playing a couple of years ago.
Man… people are just… something else.
then give other realistic suggestions on how to boost brazil player numbers to eu levels without spending a single cent on ads
the game is dead on small servers like ours and will continue to get worse
most people in this hellhole dont even know about hots, 99.99% play league of legends and their ads are everywhere, you watch a random brazilian streamer and there is a 15 second lol ad before it starts
they even played this lol wild rift ad on tv dubbed into portuguese
thats how they get a hundred thousand new players every month
Weird coincidence then that this game had a huge population in 2016 when they put out youtube ads, twitch sponsorships and general internet ads.
You used to find a quality game even on Australia within 5 seconds. Game was chock full of people and more joined constantly.
Slow decline after HGC stopped, got gradually worse, now que times are 1+ hour for a crappy rainbow match and it’s with the same 20-30 people over and over.
I can literally name every active player on ANZ, that’s how bad it is. It’s like a tiny village.
We even have a resident troll who keeps ruining matches and thinks it’s fun.
I’ve given suggestions but people are too lazy and immature and developers are, as usual, absent. Unlike League of Legends Heroes of the Storm couldn’t sustain growth or a big playerbase after the broad exposure it did receive. For crying out loud, they managed to put this thing on ESPN2, a first and last for any of these games as far as I’m aware. The reality is the game was more or less rejected. Dumping a lot of money into advertising now on psychotic logic that it’s the missing factor
- won’t happen,
- wouldn’t make sense.
Much as the numbskulls over at Overwatch like to claim dumping money outside of the game (e-sports) to promote it is folly, any potential answer here lies in the game itself. That is the root problem. Blizzard is a huge name in the industry. On name alone in this tepid market if they actually did something people would learn through word of mouth.
Yes, what a weird coincidence the game was most popular closer to when it came out! Why don’t you people start a GoFundMe page for delusional HotS players to pool your money and finance an advertising campaign? I bet it’s going to be 2016 all over again and this time things will just snowball from there!
Jesus Christ, dude. Where are the adults?
Nah, I don’t think it’s ever going to get back to the glory days numbers.
I’m not a pessimist, but I think the player numbers will get lower & lower and they wont spend a cent on this game beyond what is necessary to retain current players and keep the servers online.
I’m an Australian and I’ve already seen the full development arch of this server. For all practical purposes, it’s dead now.
You already said it in your first part of the message. The market rejected this game.
It’s my favorite game online, but I honestly think it’s dying a slow death. There’s nothing that could save it except some magical multi-million dollar ad campaign (which is never going to happen, it makes no financial sense).
vigorously rubs forehead
so then you admit it, nothing can be done anymore
they tried to make this big, it failed, now it is what it is
There’s stuff that can be done, it’s just not the sort of stuff you spend five seconds on.
There are even queue woes on the US servers, if that makes you feel not so alone. I do think making all but the most 10 recently released heroes free might help to bring in new players or retain the players we have. At this point HOTS is an old game really, so they have little to lose by doing this.
Please don’t engage, or you will be hit with spam about ideas everyone has suggested and what will basically make the game a LoL or DOTA clone. The ideas are very costly too, so also simply impractical.
Needless to write:
- This Minky person is your run of the mill poster who doesn’t understand much of anything.
- The alternative is continued obscurity up to oblivion.
That’s the beautiful thing about life. Eventually there’s a price to be paid independent of people’s opinions. This game has been paying the price some of us foresaw while the Minkies of the forum were arguing “this is fine”.
Absolu agree with u man. Personally I can’t take that poo anymore.
Good luck smurfes and abusing party, I will dance on the Hots grave because of you veeery soon.
Just keep telling yourself that. I’ve been here since launch and it’s very rare I’ve been complacent about the direction of HOTS. I’ve argued too strongly for change, once so much it got me a temp forum ban.
Simply because I don’t like many of your ideas to turn HOTS into a LoL or DOTA clone doesn’t mean I don’t want change. In fact, in my comment prior to your character attack, I suggested one.
What is that. Some sort of BW cult
