I love waking up early and using Auto-Select for the +100 XP bonus you get. What I don’t like, is how the Auto-Select system doesn’t do what it says it’s supposed to do.
For context, I own every hero except Mal’ganis. and my Auto-Select is for every role.
It gets tiring when it picks the same hero for you over and over. No matter what I do, I get Tracer more than any other hero when Auto-Selecting. This is over months of playing Auto-Select.
In regards to team comp, it doesn’t actually select the hero your team needs most! Other team has a tank? Might as well make sure my team has no tank even though I Auto-Selected. This happens more often than not.
I’m hoping what they said at Blizzcon about matchups actually fixes Auto-Select because as of now, it can be pretty frustrating.

Do not use auto select right now, you should be priming your account for the Christmas event. Hey every hero you can to within 100k to level, that way when the event starts you can get 1 loot box per game you play during the event, especially since you don’t mind what hero you play.
If you insist on doing auto select you should be picking from favorites with the favorites set to the heroes farthest from level until the event starts then reverse that when an event starts.
What they need is something similar to what Apple implemented in their shuffle function: sudo-random. So that the system automatically keeps you from getting the same character you got last match. This should also come with diminishing returns; so that you don’t don’t get the same character every other match either

I wish you could toggle hero roles and game universes with the auto select as well.
ie Random Diablo Hero or Random Tank
The heroes it does select is… friggin weird. TLV, Abby and Rexxar are super high picks for the auto select 0.o
