Auto Chess in Heroes of the Storm

It’s probably been mentioned many, many times and I’m sorry for saying it again but Heroes needs Auto Chess. Hearthstone battlegrounds are great but what we really need is this game mode within the Heroes of the Storm client. Most of the game is already made and it wouldn’t require a lot of work to get started.

I’ve included the way this would probably work below:

  • Players choose their loadout before queuing (portrait, player avatar, board and hero skins)
  • 8-player fiesta
  • Seasonal Hero pools
  • Game board is based on Heroes maps
  • Gold can be used as currency for heroes, rerolls, and experience
  • Levels go up to 10
  • Levels affect hero scaling and how many heroes you can use in combat
  • Tiers go up to 3 stars and all heroes gain a talent in each tier
  • Use the Heroes of the Storm subscription as part of a season pass to unlock rewards
  • Ranked
  • Many profits

The hardest parts would probably be sorting out the stats, the scaling, abilities and talents(not including the additional programming). Most of the hard work is already done.

Please no, enough of those games already exist. We don’t need the nth version to be HotS.

They already have an “auto Chess” in the games section of starcraft II
(so I hear) look in the games section of Starcraft II

I downloaded an autochess game on my phone.
Played it for like an hour or two.
Then I lost interest.

I don’t have any desire for it.
Besides which people have argued that Heroes itself was a late attempt by Blizzard to copy another genre, and Heroes was made in the Starcraft engine, originally a SC2 mod.
Do they really need to do that again here?

I don’t see why they’d bother doing that here of all places.

There’s already a blizz auto chess, as you said. Makes no sense to compete with yourself.
investing all those resources into heroes would a waste. There’s no huge audience and putting this in wouldn’t change that. It’d only take away from things this game needs.

Regardless it wouldn’t take much effort from Blizzard to add Auto Chess into Heroes of the Storm because most of the work is already finished for them. There would be some major profits involved if they took some time to invest in this feature as it is a new and rising game mode.
