Frozen Tempest (E)
Slow enemies Movement Speed by 10% every 1.5 second, stacking up to 30% after getting 30% slow enemies slow for an additional 15%. Heroes hit also have their Attack Speed Slowed by 10% per second, stacking up to 40%. Frozen Tempest’s effects last for 1.5 seconds.

Developer Comment:
after adding death grip to arthas it will be harder to skip from arthas so we just increased the time needed for arthas frozen tempest to stack up to make it easier to skip.

cooldown incresed from 10 to 12 sec .
damage reduced from 99 to 80
New Functionality: heals arthas for 15% of his maximum health

cooldown reduced from 35 to 15
duration of Stuns, Slows, and Roots against Arthas reduced by 50% instead of 75 % and duration reduced form 3.5 sec to 2 seconds.

New Functionality: frostmourn hunger dose 50% more damage to enemies rooted by Howling Blast and increase it slow duration from 1.5 to 2 sec if used on rooted enemies by howling blast.

our one ture king is here .
arthas is the only tank that has no stun at all ,we decided to keep it that way but as a tank he should provides more benefits to his team so we decided to add him a talent tree that provide more tanky talents .

This is busted.

15% is surely too much.

Arthas need buffs, but these are just too much.
It’s too strong to be a basic ability.

I think the problem with Arthas in hots is that he has no identity. The developers don’t know if he should play like Arthas the Dk from wc3, like the lich king from the halls of reflection in wotlk, or like a wow deathknight.

I really like your rework because it completely destroys his current “arthas the dk from wc3” part of his kit, which makes his kit make much more sense with who he is supposed to be in hots (look at his base-skin). In the story, Arthas practically stopped being Arthas after he put on the helm of domination and to have so many aspects of his kit in hots pretend the contrary is imo the reason he can’t be a meta tank, death coil doesn’t make sense anymore.

I am not going to waste my time especulating wether the values you gave to your abilities are balanced or not but i think i must mention that getting Deathgripped like that from max range would feel incredibly unfair to play against since the reward would be very high for next to no skill required to get it. I would propose Arthas can mark his enemies when he attacks them with any ability or AA and that his Deathgrip can pull only enemies marked. That way he would either have to ambush his enemies or land a skillshot to get the really OP deathgrip and it would feel better to play against.

Looking at his kit, he is basically every DK in WoW but in parts.

Arthas does not need a rework. He’s a very strong hero with many variations to build path.
Sure you don’t see him often as his specialty is countering melee assassins, which aren’t that common. But that’s not arthas’ problem. Play more melee drafts if you want to see more arthas (or I guess, if you want to ban more arthas).

P.S. Stop picking syndragosa if you pick arthas as your main tank… That’s the most common huge mistake I keep seeing with arthas. Don’t ever dare to complain that you die on arthas if you pick syndragosa.

He does need it. He is a weak and situational tank with outdated kit compared to other heroes. Not to mention Johanna who is better than him in most of the situations.

Arthas never was even considered a tank before they artificially put him in that category. The fact that you can put a bruiser as main tank doesn’t make it optimal choice for any situation. It’s like Imperius main tank - you can do it, but you really shouldn’t overdo it.
Arthas is usually “main tank” only in comps with generally strong frontline (e.g., double tank, arthas+2 bruisers, arthas+sonya+uther, etc.) or if he directly counters enemy’s main strategy (e.g., double support illidan).
There of course are some more creative ways to help arthas tank, even with weaker frontline, e.g., lucio or kharazim helping with his mobility problems to protect from dive, but that’s not something you should be doing without putting some thought into it.
Arthas-tyrael is obviously a powerful combo, but tyrael would be the one considered “main tank” in that situation (well at least sanct tyrael would be).

If you draft Arthas incorrectly, doesn’t mean he needs a rework to “fit” that.

Speaking of hammer tho, she would work quite well in an arthas comp :). Hammer loves being in triple frontline comps.

Arthas is definitely more versatile than stitches. And ppl seem to be trying to fit stitches in every single game now.

Well I guess ppl rly don’t know what arthas does… Just had a game on arthas where varian on my lane went twin blades (well he’s right that double tank into arthas is not optimal, although we did have tracer, but dude, there’s burst damage colossus option, tb is literally what arthas is MADE to counter (yes he actually died twice 1x1 before he finally realised his “mistake”)) and there was also a greymane last pick AFTER me. Well obviously that was a yawnfest easy game.

raynor attack range is 6.5
so its not much at all
it helps arthas to play as a tank not some sort of low dps bruiser

That 0.5 range really separates the pros from the bronze. 100% agree with you

The pros really know how to abuse the 0.5 range of raynors autoattack vs dead coil

well im talking about ability
i didnt want to make it very unfair ability that pulls enemies like 12 range
remember kharazim has a basic attack range of 4 well of curse by using E ability which i don’t remember it name.
any way range 6 is like double of melee range
but still range like raynor can stay out of it

Trust me with a autoattack of 1s and a dead coil that takes 9s or 6s the arthas doesnt care if he takes 1 hit xD

Arthas with death grip sounds cool and it fits the DK fantasy, but in reality that would be absolutely broken. Remember pre-nerf Garrosh and how his Q would pull people to him? Yeah, that was not a good time and he quickly got nerfed. Let’s not have an instagib point and click pull please.

The pull is neat, but it definitely pulls too far. I would say reduce its range to 5 and make it pull enemies up to 2-2.5 range towards Arthas instead. Alternatively, it could have much longer range but only work on enemies slowed by Frozen Tempest.

i like the way it removed .
also like the idea frosdtmorn hunger dose more damage to rooted heroes
and the ability that arthas can move heroes to him
i think range 6 is alot and it should be like 5.5 or 5

garrosh can throw and pulling and throw is unfair not just pulling form range 6 and slow
stiches hook has double range of that and slow burst of stiches is much more than arthas
by the way in this reworked frozen tempest nerfed a lot
already arthas frozen tempest takes 4 sec to get 40% slow but in this rework it takes 4.5 to get 30% slow
