When I play as Arthas in QM, I’ve been seeing one or more of these scenarios pretty often,
- We have another tank
- We have a tanky bruiser
- Enemy team has 3 or 4 ranged heroes
In those cases, I’ve been going Q build with Sindragosa, and basically play him like Thrall with more CC, and durability, but less mobility.
- Poke and sustain health with Q
- Flank initiate or follow up CC with W
- Melee threat with E and D
- Hard initiate with R
Has anybody else been playing him this way? I’d like to know how you do it, and if you have any tips to share!

That’s his highest WR build not only in QM but SL, except Embrace Death on 16 is sometimes switched for 2 trait attacks or the root from his aura.
If you are solo tanking though, it might be necessary to go Army of the Dead just to survive in teamfights.
Arthas AA slow also shuts down Samuro’s damage almost completely if he dives a back liner. Few people utilize that against him.
My favorite talent on his 4 is probably Deathlord because it gives you infinite poke and longer Q range (as the mana cost is fully refunded when you cast it on heroes).
When you try that playstyle it’s hard to go back to Icy Talons (hard to get value unless an enemy facetanks you for a long time) or Frozen Wastes (nice mana reduction, but the quest reward is mediocre).

All lvl 1 and 13 are good if you going Q build
Embrace death can heal you over 1000 health so if you want to look at winrates dont pick it, but if you want to be super tanky , pick it
Q can be used to dismount heroes , if they have no healer do it on the hero without substain
Harby mains Arthas, he always said “if I trust the team to do damage I take the armor reduction on 13”

Yeah, Arthas doesn’t have very good mobility, which is a hero design concept, and it is what it is, but having a strong poke means you won’t be bullied either.
6 second CD, no mana cost, 9 range, does about 10% health of most ranged hero, and heals you for about 10% of your health too.
I probably can’t reliably hit Orphea or Tracer with my W without W quest at level 1 completed. But if they are extending and thinking that they can chip away at me, I can definitely whittle them down while I wait for perfect angle to initiate with W or R.

He said the same thing to me. He’s played maybe 10 games of arthas with me and ive never seen him go for armor reduction (even when im the damage). It can be a good talent though you just need competent dmg.
As for op, arthas can win just about any melee matchup in solo lane depending on build. I go for q build most of the time but aa is necessary to beat some like yrel. Sindragosa on braxis really compliments his kit. Since he’s strong early you will probably win first obj/get 10 first, then you can use it to snowball.

Very painful, I would raise a complaint against him. Did you do a report at the end of the match against him?
