I realized that I actually don’t know how to play Arthas as a bruiser in the current meta. What is the common build? Do people go Sindra or Army? No Icy veins I suppose?
Both are depended on your teams performance.
Arthas is my most played hero on dia 1
If you can afford to push syndrigosa. If you lack healing army of dead (but with army you can also dive forts just keep an eye on your undead friends)
One tip. Ping before using syndr so people are ready
His solo push isnt hard but you can beat most enemys if your intimidating enough. Keep that in mind
And how to play you try to keep the enemy solo laner in your E for as long as possible. If you go with the ethernal hunger try to stack that one but not to obvious. You root can help with keeping the target in your slow.
I usually do. Engage, spam q. And try to get behind them for bodyblocking reasons, if they try to run trow in a root.
And the rest is standard. Try to soak or gank as much as possible. You can do camps but dont see it as a priority. Join your team when you enter late game
And may I add if they go with a auto attacker naz or zag to counter you in the solo lane. Try to hit your W and go in hard. And maybe pick a few Q talents on the way
But against normal solo laners the att speed on 4 is great
Bruiser Arthas is independent of his ultimate. Choose the ultimate best for the composition. (Usually army)
The only two talents that are a must pick for Bruiser Arthas are the Frostmourne Hungers talents at lvl 1, and lvl 16. Beyond that, pick whatever is the best composition. If stuns / roots aren’t an issue, go with Deathcoil. If you find yourself in lots of 1v1 situations(vs melee), maybe going Attack Speed + Rune Tap is your choice. (This is usually not the choice.)
(Sidenote, do not pick the Arthas Talent at lvl 4 that reduces the mana cost of his E.)
Thanks for the tips. Do you usually go E dmg at 13?
You usually go Q at 4 too?
Either, really depends. Probably just as good to go the Trait option as the others.
I would say your build will vary if you need the cc protection with level 7 and burst protection with army of the dead.
Yup, bruiser Arthas is all about the trait dmg. Infinite stacking at lvl 1 and double strike at lvl 16.
And you pick dmg or sustain talents whenever it’s possible.
icy-veins.delete the spacecom/heroes/arthas-talents - go there. Stupid bug not allow normally to link …
Going for that lvl16 Trait talent is borderline sabotage, stick with the root instead.
We’re talking about a bruiser build. Why would a bruiser go for extra CC over more ( burst! ) dmg?
Don’t go Remorseless Winter with Eternal Hungers as a bruiser, ever.
I think it’s very much situational. CC can win games so can having that extra burst damage. It really depends on their and your own team composition. The fact that you picked arthas as your solo already suggests that your team needed a tanky bruiser with decent CC. Talents can help you pick and choose how much extra CC your team needs.
Dunno, picking Arthas for the sololane shouts “we have stuns” to me.
I mean it’s not only for “oh we don’t have a CC tank” it’s specifically for we need more CC than we already have. Examples include
- playing into Maiev or illidan
- fairly squishy backline into dive comp
- etc.
Another example is main tank stitches. Now you have a few bruisers with CC, and depending on the comps arthas can be a decent choice to supply additional CC needed but while also acting as the solo laner.
I usually have great time (unless I lag), yeah
That lvl 16 talent has been week since Alpha (worst than Envenom), the additional free (yes, free!!) CC helps your team and synergises with Biting Cold which enables more dps than that second trait hit.
As for the “extra stack” for the level 1 talent, if you’re focusing more on stacking than doing what your teammates need you to do then you’re doing something wrong and it’s called sabotage.
Not just stacking more dude, the bruiser build is about stacking that quest so getting two uses out of it if you are well stacked is major damage especially if you picked up the cooldown talent at 13
Is this a joke? Apparently so, just a horrible one.
Want an actual Bruiser build that is actually a build that works OP? Eternal Hunger - Frozen Wastes (for the quest reward) - Immortal Coil or Icebound Fortitude (depends on Enemy CC potential) - Aotd - Biting Cold - Remorseless Winter - LoN or Anti-Magic Shell (depends on Enemy Primary Source of dps).
But hey, if you really want to stick with Icy Veins and fail catastrophically then be my guest.
Someone is salty very very salty
The fact you didn’t even mention that the ultimate is case by case shows me you’re unwilling to adapt and that is just sad and not worth time
Oh I’m soooo sorry that I happily and proudly offended your SJW “anything goes” mentality.
Good luck making Sindragosa work in Master league, it requires a set up that enemies will see through and make that ultimate a dead pick. But hey I’m sure others will forgive you (I sure won’t) because you’d have to be a Master Rank player to know that in the first place. You couldn’t know because you aren’t a Master, but I do because I am.
Speaking of “not worth the time”, as you have contributed nothing to the thread why are you even posting here?
I can see why it was week in the past, since Eternal Hunger wasn’t an infinitely stacking questtalent. But since it is one now, your dmg with Frostmourne Feeds skyrockets. At lvl 16, one trait activation gives you 1000+ burst dmg (either every 10 seconds or every 8). Which gets higher and higher with every hit (doublehit) by 8.
Don’t get me wrong, I really like Remoseless Winter, but you only get a melee W root from it every 10 sec if(!) they stood in your E for 3 seconds. Against most of the Heroes Arthas doesn’t need this if they’re in Frozen Tempest’s range for 3 secs anyway, thanks to the base slow and root he has from his abilities.
Plus I wouldn’t call that CC “free”, since you picked a lvl 16 talent for it.
From a bruiser your team expects enemy sololaner harassing, dealing dmg and disruption. I don’t see how using your trait for enhanced basic attacks hurts these in any way, be it the sololane or a teamfight.
The way I see it this “sure, be a noob, sabotage your team, focus on stacking instead of doing useful things” is just talking big emptily.
Since you don’t need to focus on stacking, it just happens.
Bigtalk. Care to show us your winrate? Based on hotslogs (with a grain of salt), you barely exceed a 50% wr with Arthas.
Also pls show us your rank as well, because
Based on hotslogs, you were Diamond in HL (declining in mmr) and Diamond in SL (which can be Master by now, since it updates slowly and SL is rather fresh).
So we have an “Arthas-main” full of himself, who (by the only currently available source) is Diamond with a 50.7% Arthas winrate saying to everyone that they noobs and can’t play Arthas because they don’t go with his build.
(For the record: my Arthas winrate is 55.5% and I’m currently in Diamond 1.
And I don’t see why would you need Remorseless Winter over double-trait when you have good CC on your own, you have a tank on your side, while almost Every Healer has CC and a lot of Assassins as well, so it’s not like you really need that extra roots inside your slow aura as the bruiser.)
