Aram is pretty predictable with meta heroes

Aram needs a slight change, the meta heroes are just dominating and there’s no fun.

  • Toad Naz
  • Orb Ming
  • Azmo
  • Lucio
  • Stukov
  • Chromie
  • Valla
  • Junkrat

These are just some heroes that are most commonly picked because they just work in ARAM.

There needs to be more variety and randomness to games to make it less… meta

For example

  • One game: The hero selection screen: have ALL team members have at least one of each class to pick from, and support will randomly be added.

Example:

  1. All 5 members will pick out of 1 bruiser, 1 healer or 1 melee assassin
  2. All 5 members will pick out of 1 tank, 1 ranged assassin or 1 melee assassin.
  3. All 5 members will pick out of 1 ranged assassin, 1 healer or 1 melee assassin or support.
  4. All 5 members will pick out of 2 slots of healers and 1 slot of tank

These compositions will not be the norm be like all same hero and has a maybe lets say 8% chance to get these games

Yes we all love the healer/tank/damage combo… quite the norm but change it up… especially when the meta heroes just make the game mediocre

dont forget Kaelthas, and lucio is amazing in ARAM as well.

I love azmodan in ARAM lol it’s almost unfair unless the team is really tanky.

I think the main problem is that it’s not true ARAM. You get 3 choices instead of a random one, so there’s more room for someone to pick something oppressive.

Thats why ARAM should be random pick not 3 choices.

Then why did devs include all same hero?

Because it’s not true ARAM and they can manipulate the gamemode the way they want.

I think the choice the Dev’s made to modify hero selection to allow three choices was a healthy one. I would play ARAM far less, if I was presented with only one hero choice, for the sole reason that there are many heroes I play terribly.

Likewise, I don’t want to be forced to play Genji for example, so woefully that I ruin the match for my teammates. Three hero choices is a fair compromise.

I won’t deny these a popular and strong choices in ARAM, but most of these heroes are simply popular choices in all modes, so it’s no surprise they are picked most often.

If players were presented with 3 heroes and could see what the enemy is picking, like a traditional draft, then I’d agree with you that there is a “meta” in ARAM. As it’s a blind draft, and players have no idea what the enemy is taking or what heroes they have offered, I disagree that a “meta” is really possible.

This is where I use Deathwing as an example. Deathwing can be oppressive in ARAM, but if you take him, he’s more of a gamble, than any ranged AOE hero, or other generalists, as he can be countered more easily.

There are enough rules for MM in ARAM already, if more rules are added in an attempt to force some kind of “balance”, the intended experience and flavor of ARAM, will be lost.

I do like your idea (others have suggested this too) that one player on both sides is presented with 3 healer choices. The thing is, I like playing healers and if this change was made, others who don’t like playing healers would flood the forums with complaints that ARAM is no longer “random”, and they are “forced” to play a role they dislike.

Pretty stupid proposal IMHO that goes against the nature of ARAM…even though i myself go mad everytime someone trolls.

There is nothing better than having a no balls scumbag crying that win is not possible because you took OP hero instead of ana healer you cant play at all and then totally steamrolling the oposite team. The silence afterwars from the said no balls scumbag is quite telling.
