Anyone tired of teamfighting over everything?

I mean theres nothing wrong with the occasional teamfight. But the games mechanics and hero designs have pushed things to a point where you teamfight over waves, towers, camps, then because all the camps are taken they decide to just teamfight because there’s nothing else to do!

I remember fondly back during HotS 1.0 when I was in a match and the Abathur and Tassadar decided to team up and spent the match shielding and repairbotting our structures to replenish the ammo in them. I kind of miss that sort of wacky stuff that could happen in the old days.

Now it just feels like “OK we gonna teamfight, we gotta have this comp to beat that comp, oh no they chose that guy for the teamfight, we better ban this guy for the teamfight”

TEAAM FIIIIGHT

Remember when you could play the map around that sort of thing?

Gotta hold each others’ hands like you’re in a scary movie waiting to be butchered because this is a team game where individual skill takes a backseat.

Just que for AI, it sounds exactly what you’re looking for. Why play vs AI in PvP mode when there is whole mode dedicated for it and it won’t cause miserable game for your team that way either.

Yeah because team deathmatch esports really brought people to the game didn’t it.

Hey go do AI if you dont like it. You dont have to team fight at all.

Yeah I forget how Mal’Ganis and Orphea are the new siege split pushers.

Since 2.0 dropped and HotS began getting a foot into Esports the developers had been gradually pushing the more towards team fights as they look pretty on the screen, at least that is what I am assuming.

Evidence of that is quite apparent: The lack of new Specialists that can split push, the changes to the turrets, lane changes, changes to the Specialists themselves, and a few other things that I have forgotten.

From the outside looking in so to speak in regards to esports having 1-2 people off the beaten path destroying lanes while the other three harass the enemy seems boring compared to a full on 5v5 team fight where all the flashy things occur.

That is what I see anyways.

Yes, I really really miss standing in a lane with creeps and killing them 1 by 1 for 20 minutes.

The hope is that with the pro scene dismantled, the HotS team might open up new strategic directions. The focus on nothing but deathball teamfights was aimed exclusively at creating a more exhilarating esports spectacle.

You do? LoL is the game for you then. HotS games were never supposed to be more than 15 minutes long with 3 minutes or so between objectives.

Yeah, then how did you counter Abathur and Tassadar shielding structures for forever?

Short answer: you couldn’t, so what ended up happening was Haunted Mines was removed for a long time and that strat was nerfed because it was awful to play against. Blizzard removed some annoying things.

What we do need back, though, is tower ammo. Then the pushing people can be a little happy.

Um, you still do? The last ranked match I played was Infernal Shrines, and we had our Artanis solo in the top lane while the other four rotated mid and bottom. Just before the objective, the four man split up to take camps, as Artanis cleared up the enemy camp which they had capped too soon. Outside of the objective, there weren’t too many team fights, mostly map control rotations with the occasional gank or camp invade.

I am not sure why your team had nothing to do when all the camps were taken, unless those camps were being capped at random times?

Sounds like LOL is more for you actually. If you stay in a lane and kill creeps one by one for an hour, then thats exactly what you are looking for. You close the /whine thread now.

No but i am tired of pusher playing LOL in a single lane doing nothing past taking the first fort.

If you like afk farming, dota 2 is a suitable game for you

Game is self labeled as a “team brawler”, and then people wonder why the game leans heavily towards team fights.

Hmmm, yes, quite puzzling.

It’s Ninestyle, our resident specialist obsessive. I do think the game could offer alternative play styles, in particular varied talent options that aren’t themed on each tier. However, to Ninestyle, that would mean avoiding most fights and stroking his ego thinking that he’s doing such a good job slaughtering minions and buildings while his allies are dying.

Look you guys could’ve just asked for ARAM as the main game if thats what you really wanted. I mean look at how successful catering to deathball all the time is. HotS wasn’t always like this you know.

Game character was NOT the problem, what killed the game was the matchmaker, i.e. the LACK OF CONTROL of what you get in ranked… The player him/her/it-self WAS NEVER in the “driving seat” of what they get, one game get matched with a perfectly balanced team, next game have 3 assassin-mains on your team and have no clue what to do to prevent a dumb loss (especially if not much of a good tank yourself that is overall)

I agree with one of the posts above = if want to play PvE just queue in as VS AI, like, it’s not the “teamfight mechanic” that broke the game, if anything it itself was that BREATHE OF FRESH AIR compared to other games on the market where they offered “farming” low level “laning” phase all the while HotS was about “teamfights in middle” :stuck_out_tongue: early on

PERHAPS there may have been a bit of MOBILITY CREEP in the forms of Genji/Tracer (and now Orphea) but EVEN THAT didn’t kill the game I don’t think, it’s again = the LACK OF POTENTIAL to “sit in the driving seat” in terms of “control” of what kind of experience you can/get as a player playing ranked though
