Stay A While and Listen puts all enemies in a very large AoE to sleep for 3 seconds, plus another 2 seconds if Deckard channels for the full 3 second duration.
Night Rush has a short wind-up, before increasing Mal’Ganis movespeed for 2 seconds, and allowing him to put all enemies he touches to sleep for 2.5 seconds. This can then be further upgraded.
Honestly… I don’t think this is okay. Sure, it’s somewhat easier to catch more targets with Stay a While than with Night Rush, probably. But Night Rush doubles as a movement ability, and has nearly the same sleep duration (barring the full channel thing on Deckard, but that’s surprisingly difficult to pull off).
With talents, Night Rush even sleeps targets for longer and becomes an even stronger movement ability, or it can tack on a slow at the end, or a vision reduction effect.
All in all, I think Night Rush competes too closely with Deckard Cain’s Stay a While. Regular abilities shouldn’t be nearly as strong as an ult (Unless it’s a very low CD ult, and even then it’s questionable). Especially not if the ult-mimicking effect is half of the ability.

I think we should see what changes Mal’ganis gets on Tuesday.
He is still slightly overtuned when you draft against him. At least per Hotslogs (not 100% accurate, etc., etc.)
But on the face of it, they’re very different. Stay a while “instantly” (both have windup time) hits an AOE larger than what Mal’ganis can cover.
And Mal’ganis can be slowed, etc. while using his. So more than a stun/disable can effectively make it much worse.
I don’t think the cooldown makes a massive difference unless it is used to engage in a fight which drags on and on.

Lol stay a while is stronger. It has a cast time an then it is instant sleep.
Rush has a cast time and a travel speed that can be slowed ,interrupted or dodged after it is cast.
Stay a while will nail you if you don’t deal with it before its cast.
It is like comparing storm bolt to the sundering
Or polybomb to polymorph.
Not at all
Storm bolt can hit a max of 2 heroes while sundering hits anyone in it’s path
Polymorph affects 1 person Polybomb can spread indefinitely.
Night rush and Stay a while are both wind up AOE sleeps.
They are easier to compare then you think.

Alright how about the sundering and impale?
And night rush is not an instant large aoe sleep either.
The biggest difference between Stay Awhile and Night Rush is that Deckard can cast his from a safe distance, where Mal’Ganis has to make actual contact for the sleep to take effect. This makes it easier to prevent Night Rush from landing with a stun, knockback, root, sleep, etc. Even just looking at supports, most have a way to prevent Night Rush from connecting. Interrupting the cast of Stay Awhile is much more difficult.

You’re comparing apples and oranges here. The greatest reason Stay a While is superior is because it’s ranged and far wider. It’s also significantly better as a setup because it lasts longer and therefore easier to time CC’s together.
A better comparison is Ana’s dart and Mal’ganis sleep and that one is also a lot better due to it’s long range.
I think the main reason you’re overvaluing Mal’ganis sleep is because the character is very strong right now so his sleep appears stronger than it actually is. Kind of like what Tormented Souls was for Malthael when he was released.
The heroes themselves compare vastly differently to each other in their kits.
Malganis requires you to get far closer than deckard for a stun, putting yourself at risk to heroes like garrosh, deckard can stay back and put the entire enemy team to sleep all at once.
Deckard can also followup his ult with a root that can also come with a massive burst of damage and a 15% armor reduction. I feel deckards combos far more than I fear malganis.
confirmed OP just bad and OP just mad couldn’t land EZ stun on obvious stun target. Going to forums.
