Anyone else excited for the Exp change?

True, but you don’t always actively notice them, or see why they’re happening. If you don’t know how Xp works, it’s quite possible to mistakenly assume the xp is happening even if you’re not around to see it. Or if multiple people watching/gathering the same xp is useful or not. Just because something is visible doesn’t mean that it gives clear or useful information. Also it can be awkward when you’re soaking on the edge of xp range (to stay as safe as possible), as you won’t see if were in range or not until it’s too late.

Globes do seem like an improvement in terms of xp visibility. If it was just globes instead of floating numbers i’d be very happy with changes. It’s the other changes (reduced range, no xp on kill) that come with it that have me more worried instead.

It’s still one of their primary uses and suddenly losing the ability to do that significantly hurts their viability.

This. Comparing orbs to floating numbers means someone completely misunderstood their uses.

Yup, same. I don’t really care about xp being that visible or not, but the decreased range to be able to soak worries me.
This change helps snowballing (something the devs fought multiple times to minimize) and that makes this [as a whole] seems to be a horrible change in my eyes.
But we’ll see.

Not excited, but it could be a good change, we don’t know yet. Give it a chance. It will certainly change up the dynamic, which can be a good thing. If it sucks, then they should be prepared to roll the changes back.

I wonder if medivh will be able to also grab xp globes in raven form.

I don’t think it’s a horrible change, but I think people are overplaying its potential effect.

Anyone who has played the tutorial or even if they haven’t instinctively understands that minions give experience on a factual level. The thing is people just don’t care or aren’t aware of it while they’re doing other things like killing people. Hell, people don’t even pick up health globes when they’re RIGHT next to them.

When I used to play WSG in wow, people weren’t idiots. They knew that the flag is what got them wins. That didn’t stop them from fighting mid and never going to the objective. At least in HOTS, killing players at least gives you experience.

Excited? No, but I’m curious to play with this new thing and see how it will impact the gameplay. Remember that also in the past there were changes that have been hated before going live and actually have result as pretty good ones instead (removal of tower ammo, +10% movement speed to everyone, just to name a couple).

Add me to the “not excited but curious” gang.
I have a generally positive outlook on changes with this game and thus I am waiting to see this mechanic in action before judging it.
I am also not exactly thrilled by the concept since a lot hangs upon execution rather than the idea itself sounding amazing from the get go.
So yeah, positive but more curious of the mechanic than excited to see it.

There is going to be ALLOT of stupid olayers coming out high level still, and more prominently, going to be like a “deer in the headlights” kinda thing…derp around…not soak…cost the 4 lvl lead again…you know…only with this CRAAPPPPYY change it will be 10x more obvious and annoying

You only lose the ability if you frequently afk them in bushes.
If you’ve played Starcraft any, you become used to controlling things via the minimap, double tapping group selection hotkeys to center on them, and shift-queuing commands.
All of those are helpful for collecting health globes when you have them in separate lanes, which require you to go to a riskier position than the XP globes will require. I put them in 3 lanes for a while. Then I tried 2 (Olaf+Eric together, Baleog separate). And now I’m doing 1.
I just find 1 to be fun because instead of just being an exp sponge that has to worry about being ganked at 3 loctions, I get to beat the likes of Artanis or Malthael out of lane by doing a bit of micro.

I personally want to see how the new exp changes feels before making suggestions or complaints to the devs. I like the range reduction but not getting exp from last hitting minions could be frustrating. At least at first anyway.

More people need this outlook on the anomaly.

He can pick up health globes so I don’t see why he couldn’t. He still has to physically be there.

I think this is the most likely outcome. We’ll only know once it hits live or the PTR.

I 100% agree with you. I think there are too many doomsayers in this community and specifically the forums.

I totally understand the concern here. This is supposed to be a temporary 3 month thing. hopefully it goes well and leads to positive changes in the game. If not then no biggie as by design it doesn’t appear to be more than a deep test.
