Anyone else excited for the Exp change?

It’s actually already visualised tbh. You can see like “78 xp” when a minion dies while you’re in xp range and there’s the tab screen and a bit detailed stuff if you hover your cursor on the “VS” on the top of the screen between the lvls of the teams.

I’m not. I think it’s bad if it’s easier to deny xp from the enemy, cuz that means easier snowballing. (And it’s easier, because the xp globe magnetising range is smaller than the current soak range.)

I strongly believe it foster even more aggression on the lane, which Incentive people to fight even more. This would be bad, really bad.
It will confirm the bias that fighting (“all the time”) is the way to win the games

Keep the soak range the same and make it only a visual change and give us the option to turn it off

abathur can be as strong as a regular hero once he actually has to interact with the enemy team to play the game instead of playing a single player game all the time.

Don’t make such a stupid post. No one wants this, don’t go making blizzard think this is okay. I don’t want it to hit live. I don’t want it to grace a single one of my games ever. It is not a good mechanic, it’s horrible. No need to fix what isn’t broken.

Not really excited for xp changes but looking forward to a general change in play style and drafting choice it might result in.

I too want to see how this effects drafting and lane phase. I think it could be really good. Too bad this forum is an echo chamber of negativity. Hopefully we get a PTR next week.

No, dude. People don’t want it. It can be tested, fine, whatever. Put it as just a brawl. No reason it needs to impact the main game for people who don’t want to see it.

What are you scared of?

It’s just a bad change. it screws with a lot of heroes and it makes exp gathering more tedious. The way it works now is already perfect so there is no need to change it just for the sake of changing it. There are a lot of problems this game has that needs immediate addressing but exp is not one of them.

Well it looks like only a handful of heroes will be adversely effected. How does making you work harder for exp a bad thing?

Agree. That said,

Still applies. A lot of the playerbase is really dumb in this game. I hold the same opinion as murloc does, ore or less

Great… Now I have to change my name to Merloc

Because it’s exp. Why do I need to put in all this extra work for it? There’s already so much going on, no need to tack on this change. The exp change also really hurts some of my strategies. Since the soak range is smaller now, and you need to be close to them to soak them up, I can’t play as passively during an already lost or losing lane. So that makes a strong solo laner just that much more powerful. EXP as it is, is balanced perfectly and gives each hero a way to do their thing without any ever feeling like they are just overusing the mechanic (Aside from Aba. But this change would gut Aba.)

Valid complaints but I think you should wait and try it out before labeling it a horrible change.

I second this. Even if it’s not a “losing lane”, being forced to walk near a minion wave exposes you to potential dangers. Devoted solo laners could not care less, as they are already in the minion wave, but some nimble heroes, like Valla, who sometimes find themselves soaking, even if they aren’t meant to, will be hurt a lot by this change.

At the very least, the soak range should be as big as the current exp soak range, and landing a killing blow should also grant you the exp automatically.

Will surely test it once it hit the PTR, I’ll judge once I experience it.

I won’t, because it is forced into the main game. I will only compromise and have it as a brawl. I don’t want it effecting how I play in the game. So I ask why can’t it just be a brawl? Why force these stupid anomalies on players who don’t want to deal with it? Shoving a mechanic down a players face only makes them want to quit. And they can’t afford that. This game is on lifeline. Don’t push out even more players with such a pointless change.

Thank you devs for providing this cool change! it will change almost nothing but people will be salty over it regardless (always need something to complain about xd) but it is one of the best, least worrying changes they’ve ever made i think. 2 weeks after going live, it will flow so well that it will feel like its always been a part of the game. It helps to incentivize soaking, makes it more satisfying, and generally gives some nice dopamine hits.

Nice job devs! Ignore the ummm… “passionate” players complaining before even testing it

Sorry, do I even know you?

I know you. You rear your head up to do this stuff all the time, and then get immediately shut down by people. it’s sad. Just quit it.
