First, the next few months will unfold much like we’d originally planned. In fact, our 85th hero will be announced soon before hitting the PTR the first week of January, and that hero will be followed by a string of cool events and hero reworks en route to our next hero release.

We’re getting reworks in feb, likely along with the lunar event, then another hero in March.

What we want to do beyond those releases is currently under discussion across the Heroes of the Storm team. The plans moving forward are going to be focused on the things that the Heroes team and all of you in our community are excited for. Our team has always thrived when we’re working on things we’re passionate about. While our team is smaller, we’re a fully functional group of developers who can create the features and content we all want, in time. I know everyone is eager to hear more, but we’re still in the early stages of these conversations, so we’ll share updates once the team has made some decisions.

And while I can’t give you all the details just yet, I will also say that we’re actively discussing not only the right cadence for our patches and content – we’re also reconsidering some very core areas of the game to identify more ways we can make Heroes even better for players.

They’re discussin plans on what they’re doing after the hero in march, which im sure they’ll explain before we get there.

There will not be a lunar event for HOTS this year as there has been in the past this is why they extended the Xmas event into FEBRUARY. There may be skins, there may be new mount variations like pink version of the rocket shown at blizzcon for those that noticed, but an event like we had in the past, with an animation and some form of hero no. Our best hope is a rework (maybe Chen for theme purposes) and maybe skin and mount from previous lunar new year recolors. Maybe a splash page for lunar new year. Return of the rocket ride brawl… but thats about it.

extending the toy event really doesn’t hinder the lunar festival as the mark of the year transition is february 5 – which is a tuesday – and 3 of the past years of the lunar festival have had the event occupy most of the time between february and march.

kinda hard to have a “string of events” between the 85th hero release and the 86th if they skip a fairly routine event, which by your semi-admission, wouldn’t need much work to recycle aspects of the event from years prior. If nothing else, offering the season skins and a daily quest/check is the mark of an “event”.

Heroes released = 9
12 months/9 heroes = 1.333 months per hero = 5.333 weeks per hero

So Feb 20th or 27th

I’d honestly them do on other changes to improve/rework how stuff works and all, at least try save what’s left of ranked… New hero is fine but… Gotta be honest with ourselves and the playerbase if want some progress/game-health rather
