Another Fiixed matchmaking in SL

Match making gives other team 2 players that are 2 color levels above us, none of our team are same color as their team.

We of course lose due too normal reason of noobs not going to obj when it comes up since while their team has people that are high enough rank to show up at obj.

I’m sure you would have made the same thread if the 2 over-ranked players were on your team and carried you to victory.

Nah, because if I win, I carried the game so it doesn’t matter what ā€˜color’ my teammates are :joy:

I’m in Australia and I’ve seen Masters matched with Bronzes.

2020 and people still judge skill by account level, even discounting that tons of bronzes are above 1000 while many diamond + are under 500…

You don’t get more skilled just by playing a lot, you get better by winning better opponents.

If the enemy outnumbers you, or they have level 16 and you don’t. It makes sense not to go fight them.

That would be true if the game had a carry. The problem and one of the reasons the game failed, is it is the actual opposite. One bad player on your team will make you lose.

Then how do you explain bronze to gm challenges, or smurfs that have 90% win rate? They can overcome 1 very bad player or afk. It only becomes a problem when you play against equally skilled opponents (then 1 afk will lose the game instantly).

You absolutely can carry in hots when you play against people much below your skill level.

If you have around 50% or less win rate, you aren’t playing against people worse than you, you’re playing against people who are as good or better than you = at your exact intended MMR.

For example, I would have around 100% against bronzes, even if I had afk teammates (and I did test this with a friend). But I would have less than 50% vs diamonds. I am a medium plat.

I 100% agree with you but I’m pretty sure FAN on his last B2GM lost some games in lower ranks :stuck_out_tongue:. Where he ā€œcarry’sā€ isn’t IMO his skill but more his knowledge.

Carry in HOTS IMO is different to what most people who have played LOL or DOTA2 would expect. A Carry could even be someone of equal skill but a very good shotcaller (if their team listens). In the other MOBA’s a carry is generally someone with more skill.

Personally I think that the HOTS way is more subtle but I do understand the frustration when 1 AFK or someone INTING loses a match for you.
