Funny that they got both abuse chat and hate speetch in thier own box. They both fit into the same category.
Also wondering how the negativ attitude report work out. If you ask for surrender you actually quit the game and gave up and would get reported for giving up.
Honestly, I’ve always asked myself why in hots you can’t report people for more than one thing at the same time. I’ve read before that even reporting someone for one thing then another one later won’t have any effect, just the first report. Don’t know if it’s true or not.
Yes and no. Abusive chat is more towards players, while hate speech could just be someone saying the n word randomly in game, or being homophobe in general. And yeah, someone could be doing both at the same time, being homophobe/racist towards a player, so you just report for both things.
No, asking is not reportable. Negative attitude/giving up is more someone who isn’t really afk, just not playing the game. For example someone who never comes to objectives and is forever pushing lanes alone and intentionally letting the enemy team get stuff on the map/win the game. Or someone trying to force people to FF all the time or trying to force people to afk in base and let enemy win. It’s just a negative attitude in general. You know that player who keeps saying “gg let them end” in hots from the start? That’s negative attitude. It’s nothing something major most of the time, so people won’t get punished that hard for that.
Glom, do you know if LoL has humans review their reports, or is it automated by quantity of reports like Hots is, at least for abusive chat?
If Hots was mostly human reviewed I’d much prefer the reporting system above, as a “negative attitude” can be very different from “verbal abuse” or “hate speech.” As Hots stands with most report functions being automated, I don’t think a system like this would improve matters in game. Just my feeling.
I’ve read the same, I think it’s only speculation, I can’t imagine Blizzard being that open about how their report system works, which is probably wise.
Yes, they have. I think recently they were changing the system to be more automated, at least for abusive chat, hate speech etc. Still, only 1 report is enough to trigger the system into reviewing it, not hundreds of them like in hots.
There is no sign of negative attitude. For that to be a valid report they would need to openly say they are leaving because they cannot be bothered or are telling their allies to give up.
This is why such systems should not exist, people will just tick all the points even if many do not apply.
They are technically different. Abuse would be swearing or general harassment like calling someone a “noob” or other rude words. Hate speech would be insulting someone for their gender, sexual orientation or ethnicity. Both are not nice but still different. Insulting someone for their ethnicity might not involve rude words, but instead alternative meanings.
It is less likely to be the case should only the first report be accepted from the same player against another specific player, with the others ignored or weighted less. This should turn out to be the biggest issue with the player, rather than trying to find petty reasons to report as well.
A tick all boxes sheet provides no relevant weighting as to the actual problem with the player.
