Adding a -swap ability in ARAM

I’m not sure how hard it would be to code but adding an ability to swap your picks with another would be a great addition to ARAM.

Don’t want to heal BW? np, I’ll swap you for my DPS!

“You won’t take my healing slot for your ZJ? Guess I’ll alt+f4!”

In theory, I love the OP’s suggestion, as your comment suggests, in practice it would probably only lead to more squabbles.

Yes, that kind of daily healthy behaviour is just what we need

The swap in ARAM will probably be there one day but before that :
we need to define if ARAM needs to follow some meta like 1 tank, 1 heal, 2 assasins, 1 flex
if so, the random should give you a role (so your team is forcibly looking ok) and then you would have 3 choices for your given role, from there you can imagine swapping a role (the full column of 3 choices)
if we don’t care about meta in aram because it’s aram, we should just get 1 hero each and just play

Then for the leavers, there’s 2 issues :
First, as the hero choice is when you’re already “in game”, leaving doesn’t matchmake again so you’re stuck with an afk/bot/troll
Secondly, there no punishment at all and even if there was some kind of temporary ban, you can create a new account under 5 min as long there is no 2FA with phone number (anything 2FA that is harder than just creating a new trash mail, etc.)

Same. This sounds okay. So I’m in support, but skeptical about its outcome. Also sadly no one to implement it. And if someone would say it would be agsinst Aram’s core (random) I would understand that.

I would instantly take your healer for zj.
Zj is kinda boring imo.

This kind of unintelligent and unjustified resistance to good ideas is why this game died.

In no other MOBA do people leave matches during ARAM because people didnt swap heroes with them.

Blind faith, inability to adapt and hatred for intellectualism all bundled up to deliver the nonsensical posts you see like this one. And it gets upvoted.

It gets upvoted because it’s a realistic expectation of what can be expected from the playerbase at large.

You’re so wrapped up in what you’d like to have that you’re too delusional to see how it can be abused and hence, why it probably won’t be added.

It’s not “hatred for intellectualism”, it’s called being realistic. Though, I can’t really expect much from you with your history of bad takes.

It is not realistic no matter what you say. Its your word vs reality itself. Reality itself has shown that what you proposed is untrue.

Unless my team really needs the damage, I also skip over ZJ or Azmodan and take the healing option if it’s offered. Just a personal preference, but I find Azmo even more boring in ARAM than ZJ.

That statement from Blast isn’t true. I have lost track of how many times I’ve said to someone “I don’t like mirror games either”, only for that person to say “no, you do, you high post count forum hive mind troll!”

On other occasions I might agree with a person, but not 100% so again, I get those kinds of insults thrown at me.

The forums have become very unpleasant. There are certain posters who feel they can abuse you (even when you never replied to them), personal attacks, swearing, and if you reply to them and say it is unacceptable, they cry victim. These are the same people who are, openly stating, their intentions to abuse the flag system to get all “mega threads deleted.”

They already achieved this by getting “The Salt Mines” deleted, so it’s not an idle threat.

This unfounded “us vs them” mentality, is not only fiction, but tiresome and the daily abuse and threats, hurts what little community remains.

This not only effects old forum regulars like me, but new posters who just see threads full of insults and brawling.

In the OP of my thread, I clearly state the intention of the thread is not about games won or lost, it’s about the people you meet in a game, which made it an enjoyable experience.

People should feel free to post clips where they feel they performed well, as it’s still in the spirit of the thread, “good games.”

The Off Topic thread is just that, a place where people can chat about things not related to Hots.

It’s not up to you to decide what threads, should or shouldn’t be or how they are used. So far, in all the threads you listed, people aren’t breaking the forum COC.

If you were doxxed, you have my profound sympathy. The same happened to me years ago, which is why I private this account.

Post where I bad-mouthed you. I never said I have put you on ignore, I said I wasn’t going to reply to you again in that particular thread. I even explained and clarified that to you, when you brought it up in some other thread.

Likewise, I’m not sure what you expect of me, when someone is stating openly they want to destroy my thread, do you want me to send you flowers?

If you decide to show respect for me, I will do so to you, and have already done so in the past. As I said, I liked you before all this nonsense, but naturally I’m not going to like someone making threats and mischief.

You have, these are your actions. I’m confident if you stopped doing so and went back to posting as you did before the “Salt Mines”, the majority of people would forgive and forget.

Heck, when you blamed yourself for being the sole reason the Salt Mines were deleted, myself and many others in the “commune”, told you it wasn’t your fault.

This is so out there, I have no words.

This will give you ammunition, but I don’t care. I only started using these forums when my now deceased husband was battling cancer. I loved Hots and this community felt “safe”, the people were mostly friendly, it was a welcome respite from the then unhappy reality of my life.

So you’re right about one thing, I would like these forums to be a peaceful place to discuss Hots, as that is a fair expectation for a forum for something as uncontroversial as a computer game.

Because it’s directly related to this comment:

As I said, it’s not an unfair or unrealistic expectation for someone to want or expect a forum dedicated to something as uncontroversial as a video game to be peaceful.

We have reached an impasse, you have called me a “liar” and worse and more, and so clearly no matter what I say to you, your mind is made up and closed.

I do still wish you the best and despite what you say, I liked talking with you and reading your posts, that’s why you have so many likes from me in the past, I tend not to give likes to posts that I well, don’t like.

Enough now, due to this “us vs them” campaign, I really dislike using these forums, so you have your wish granted, time for a break, or for me to move on completely.

It wasn’t, but attempts at appealing to your better nature hasn’t exactly been successful.

Also the Hero Replay thread. And the HotS Meme one.

Do you really feel that HotS players are smart enough for this function?

In LOL, they have something a tiny bit similar. You get like 2 token things to start with and 1 per hour, you can also purchase more. What this tokens or whatever do is enable you to swapsout single heros but they are then added to a pool which anyone can pick from

Abit hard when you mostly got people who goes off-topic alot.

When did our mega threads suddenly turn into a flex thread ? There are nothing to flex at. Those mega threads was always about bringing the community together and share our games and our passion for the game. There are no one who are flexing on this forum really.

Sounds more like you are just trolling again.

I had nothing to do with the replay thread, I never even posted in it, let alone created it.

Respectfully, please go away and stop trying to involve me in your petty attempts to stir up forum drama. As for your discord drama, I don’t even have discord installed, so I have no involvement in that, please just leave me alone.

The majority of Hots players are smart enough to manage a simple hero swap function. What many aren’t is emotionally mature enough to manage such a function. They would squabble and probably someone would still pick Samuro and Valeera at the last second rather than a healer etc.

Well no worries. I may suggest using the ignore function to block trolls in the future.

I have you on ignore. As part of your post where you named me specifically, was quoted by another user, I saw your comment.

As I said, the best thing is for us to ignore each other, then you should have no reason to bring up my name ever again.
