One of the main issues with Volskya foundry’s protector is the lack of peel it provides with two players inside it.
Suggestion:
When the protector is occupied by two players the sheild ability of the driver additionally pulses a large AoE slow. (Similar to one pulse of Thralls Earthquake)
This will increase the danger enemy teams have passing it to dive onto vulnerable allies.

Agreed. Dragon Knight feels more useful than the robot, and that’s unfortunate since robot takes 2 people.
Robot palm+ shield do less for the team than dragon launching 1 enemy away, and Robot’s high hero damage is only for meme-ing in QM, where some people just watch as they’re killed. Would definitely like if robot did higher siege damage and less hero damage, or provided a slow, or pushed enemies back (like bw’s ult).

The protector already has something similar? If you shoot its hand into enemy heroes it stuns and pushes them back.

… That’s the “robot’s palm” I was mentioning. And it keeps the enemy away for less time than dragon.
I don’t understand the need for peel. You take no damage to yourself when you are in the mech and cc immune.
I would maybe concede to a pulse nova slow when the mech explodes so the people inside can escape, but consider if you are melee DPS going against a protector, it would seem unfair to me to get pulse nova slow, on top of the protectors other abilities.
Yes it does, but it’s a skill shot and not point and click like the Dragon Knight displacement, so some people will struggle with it.
The weakness of the protector is that it leaves your team mates vulnerable, not the players inside it vulnerable.
It becomes challenging to use effectively if the teams synergy becomes weaker by having multiple members inside the vehicle.
Which is where having a large AoE slow would allow heroes with less HP to possition more aggressively when they have the protector, (unironically being protected) rather than risk having the enemy team dive past the protector, and engage into them.
It just comes down to if your team can use the protector effectively . There are too many variables for me to tell you what to do in every scenario, but some teams push with the protector, some teams split up and push other lanes. Sometimes the mech has a bad driver… It’s all part of the game, but ultimately it should give you a temporary push advantage.
It may be better to just improve on the Protector’s current abilities than add additional ones. Such as increasing Rocket Fist’s Hero push from 1.5 seconds 2 seconds or even 2.5 seconds. Also increasing the shield amount as well as duration.
Another possible addition is adding some amount of slow to the Protector’s melee hits (while having two heroes in it) to give it additional peeling ability as well as being a hazard to any enemy heroes that get to close as they’ll be more vulnerable to not just the Protector’s own abilities but those of the driver/gunner’s allies.
Depending on the slow amount (or having the slow stack from multiple hits) that could be sufficient to keep people from getting too frisky with the Protector’s teammates.
That’s the problem. Without considering intentionally giving the robot to stack on it, I’ve seen more often the ones taking the robot getting wiped late-game, than the other way around.
You can rush core with it if it’s open, but not much more.
There is no getting around the fact that you can get a bad driver on your team or copilot who isn’t using the abilities effectively. Seen it many times where the pilot an copilot aren’t working together and focused on different things. I think most people don’t even read how the abilities work, for example: the Gatling gun shouldn’t normally be used on structures as it take a -50% dmg penalty.
Here is a little known fact: The mech also scales . Not by level, but by game time, capping at the 21 minute mark, so there is a small argument to make that the mech drops off on those long games where you get to Lvl 30. By that time, the mech should have been used to knock down most structures.
The Protector works really well when you know how to use it.
