3840x1080 Resolution

Hi, I was wondering if blizzard could work on adding the 3840x1080 resolution to the game. When I play the game I use the biggest resolution possible in game and it doesn’t fit my screen, it stretches the game and the experience is bad.
The Nvidia Geforce Experience isn’t working for me, I tried it but nothing happens. Please can you work on adding that resolution to the game there are a lot of players who would be thankful for this. Thank you.

They wont do proper 21:9 support for overwatch or diablo so I wouldn’t expect that for another 2 years. Im glad I have 2560 so I’m not gonna complain. But honestly, why would you buy that thing? They are awesome but…not really supported yet by hardly anything. Gaming companies are struggling to get 2560 out let alone that monster.

That’s weird, it works for me though. I have the 5k display with 5120 × 2880 resolution. I did have issues in 2015 with it. But in the beginning of 2016 I installed the game again and it worked perfectly. Still playing it today.

its the aspect ratio. blizz doesnt like to support non-standard aspect ratios. which, i dont blame them. its easier to support 4:3 and 16:9.

1920x1080 [1k] – 16:9
2048x1152 [2k] – 16:9
3840x1080 [—] – 32:9
3840x2160 [4k] – 16:9
5120×2880 [5k] – 16:9

It works fine for me on D3 tho

KaBoom!!! I feel your pain! PLEASE ADD SUPPORT for 3840x1080! I got the Samsung CHG90 and it used to play Heroes of the Storm perfectly fine until last week. Now i cant get it to go to the proper resolution even utilizing Geforce Experience(Geforce Experience isn’t locating my HoTS which could be the issue as of last driver update). I know there are other people out there with this problem! i sold my old monitors months ago and now I cant play hots anymore. If you find a work around pls let me know!

last time i played D3, which was before necro release, they didnt support anything other than 4:3 and 16:9 officially. you could work around that obviously. however, since the game wasnt actually made for it then the extra space on the sides didnt really do much for you at that time.

Same here Salt. I have the Samsung CHG90 and could use the Geforce experience for a couple months to optimize right before I would open Hots and it would run flawlessly in 3840x1080. For over a month now Geforce Experience can no longer find HOTS to optimize. It looks terrible in any other resolution and is not worth playing. Hopefully blizzard will fix that and allow us to set the resolution to 3840x1080. cause until then I’m not spending money on Stimpacks and in game items cause I’m not playing!

Same Problem here! Using Samsung CHG90 as well. GeForce Experience optimizing isn’t working since Game Version 2.40.0.70200 and GeForce Driver 416.94! Every other Game is still fine! Would be nice if Ultra Wide resolution to 3840x1080 could be changed ingame!

I was planning on buying the CHG90, but i’m discouraged now. Can someone who has that monitor tell me if Hots can be played with black bars on the ends of the screen, I mean in a different resolution, like 2560 x 1080?

You should be able to make it work if you use Nvidia Experience panel, and “Optimize”. It will set the resolution to 5431 * 1527, and that works for me. For some time my Nvidia Experience was unable to find the game, and in that case you can edit the variables.txt found in c:\users"your username"\Documents\Heroes of the Storm. Find “height” and set it to 1527, and “width” to 5431. You could probably try with 3840 * 1080 to, haven’t tried that.

What I cannot make work, is to have this setting be persistant. I have to do it every time I want to play the game.
