Is this game dead or dying?
if NA then that could be because it’s 1AM there and people got stuff to do early morning etc? if EU it’s because 9 / 10AM so don’t expect to find fast games at such time

It’s kind of ridiculous how queue times go so long. At some point we need to accept that even a low quality game is better than waiting forever. Queues should be limited to a 10 minute deadline where matchmaking just automatically puts the 10 nearest ranked players into a game.
i mean it already throws a GM player into plat / diamond games in SL in general. so that random stuff already happening but yet can’t find fast games at such times cause people offline
Meanwhile, Brawl queue in EU is always less than 10 seconds.
Brawl has no matchmaking at all. In fact a Brawl will start even without human players if necessary, with up to 1-4 bots on both sides when there are under 10 people online queuing for Brawl.
But as said above, night hours or early morning are painful on many servers, there are possibly just a few dozen people playing and none of them near your MMR.

Yeah, but it’s amazing that Brawl queue in EU very rarely needs to fill bots. I’ve not seen that case since 2 years ago. Just my guess, Brawl may be too popular, so that too few people queue for other modes. Thus, Brawl is even faster, while you can queue forever in other modes. At least, it’s the case in EU server.
True, since EU player base is so massive, I don’t think you can get bot Brawl games on EU unless you play at some ridiculous time like 04:40 AM. And even then it will often find 9 humans.
I rather play a diffirent game then, then to suffer a low quality game. In the years i played tf2, the servers i usualy played on were generaly only active between 6pm and midnight. And between 8am and 6pm you could be glad if there were 10 people in it.
And this also proves that it doesnt say a thing about how fast a game dies aswel. If during the main hours the game is active and can give decent enough games, its alive enough.
2x bronze, 4x silver, 2x gold,1x plat, 1x gm… i can already see what situation we will get. And its not going to be a good game for the plat and gm player.
Same if it would be 2 bronzes in a plat+ game.
Why not just press Alt+tab and do something else? You’re not playing on a Console.
I’m on NA and even at 1 in the morning my queue times are fine. I believe that this is a bug, other people have had the same issue. I don’t know the fix, but if you search “queue time” on the forum search bar you should get other similar topics with answers you need
1 AM is not that late. If you play between 4-8 AM you often have to wait forever in que or if it’s brawl, it will put AI players on either side. That isn’t a bug, it’s a lack of players.
But I do get normal ques between 10 PM and 2 AM, plenty of people are still awake on major servers.
You can cancel 1000+s ques all you want but it isn’t a bug since there aren’t enough players if you can’t find a game. It usually only happens at very unpopular hours or on smaller servers.
edit- an exception is grand masters or australian players, since so few people are available they can get 10-20+ min ques every day at every hour.

In my experience, the longest queue times experienced in HotS was the last season of Hero League. Which were 30-40 minutes in mid-diamond.
Off peak hour for ranked in NA is ~15 minutes outside of very bottom/top based on what I’ve seen.
