Zerek's Cloning Gallery is a really fun card

Can it win the game? No. It can’t even turn the tide. It’s slow and you really don’t want to draw it early. Also beware not just every board clear, but so much as a ping like Fan of Knives will be your undoing.

However, it can be used, albeit with much work, to create some really beautiful death-effect shenanigans, and semi-reliably so. When I crafted it I was really unsure about it, and I would drop it from my deck if I wanted to win more games, but it’s both a joy to see, and one that pays off many turns later.

People complain about broken or useless cards all the time, so I thought it would be nice to point out a success. Of course, it’s overcosted, but that’s just Priest spells.

It’s tough to walk the lines between “broken and flavorful”, “not good but flavorful”, and “unplayable, but flavorful if it were”. Glad you’re having fun!

While not broken from a statistical perspective, the turn 9/10 Clone-Gallery-into-42-face-damage highroll of Clone Priest during Boomsday/Rastakhan certainly felt broken when you could pull it off (or when your opponent pulled it off against you). Even flavorful cards can appear broken if the best case scenario is impactful enough.

I sympathize with the “salt” when this happens, but I love it. I’d rather go out in a blaze of flavor, than die to 20 slow turns of Mechs having rush, or whatever.

I think it absolutely can turn the tides - if you have the right deck setup for it.

Ever played Zerek’s Cloning Gallery when your deck is full of infiltrators, Catrinas and spirits? It’s a huge tempo swing. If the opponent doesn’t have an AOE answer then you might as well say it’s game over.
