Zephyrs didn't offer Pyroblast

Zephyrs should have offered me a Pyroblast for lethal next turn, but instead offered me a useless Silence, a Ysera I couldn’t play this turn, and a Lay on Hands I couldn’t play this turn.

Enemy was at 9 life and 3 armor with a single 7/7 minion in play.

I was at 19 life as Hunter, with 5 regular minions and a dormant minion in play, and a 3/1 weapon. I had already attacked (with my weapon + minions) and used my hero power, and I had spent down to 2 mana to be sure Zephyrs would consume the last 2 mana and didn’t focus on this turn. I had wanted a Pyroblast to give me a minimum of 10 damage plus 3 with the weapon.

Screenshots at the below link. The “Board” graphic I captured right after I made my choice and tapped End Turn, but the minion layout is the same as it was when I was offered the Zephrys choice.

its honestly difficult to say what would be the perfect card in this situation. pyroblast on its own isnt lethal even if we both can see that its a path where its lethal, you also already have lethal on board. you have no cards in hand so zephrys would likely assume you need more cards over direct damage to opponents face. ysera is a value play for next turn. silence is iffy but you did play zephrys with 0 mana left and opponent has spell power so zephrys might believe you want a way to deal with that

So you’re asking Zephrys to offer cards based on next turn’s board state?

That’s probably it. The options likely would have been Pyroblast, Ysera, and Lay on Hands. But he saw Spell Damage with 10 mana (And maybe the possibility of a big taunt to block Lethal?) so he weighed Silence against the weakest bucket. And since the board showed lethal already, he decided the most expendable was Pyroblast.

I’m inclined to agree that Pyroblast was more important. The minions in play were low on health and AoE could have easily turned the game around. Pyro and the weapon would have secured it.

Should be a megathread somewhere that “Zephrys should have given me this card instead” posts can be directed to. Bug forum isn’t really suited for strategic deliberation, interesting as it is.
