Holy crapballs that’s nice.
Deathrattle synergy is something Priest needed some good support for, and the flip-flopping light/shadow powers is so fantastic from a flavor perspective.
This hero is 10/10 imo.
great 8 cost card for the questline
It’s worth noting that you do not resurrect the minions with the Battlecry, you “merely” trigger their Deathrattles again.
Wow, that damage possibilities with rezzing a bunch of Shadowed Spirits early game and then playing this.
What a Control card 5 stars for me , most the classes i play got great tools(Priest, Warlock, Rogue).
Still waiting on Mage, fingers crossed.
Vesatile. You can otk someone with deathrattles as well.
On one hand, potentially terrifying. On the other hand, Deathrattles have sucked pretty hard for a long time, and 2.5 healing/damage per turn isn’t unreasonable for a hero card or frustrating to play around.
For once I’m not mad about a strong Priest card. I can’t wait to find out what Deathrattle synergy breaks this and makes it infuriating to play against.
It’s a nice hero card, but as long as the demon seed remains unchanged this will never be a viable win condition. Priest can’t handle the OTK quest meta as is. These new cards we’re getting are fine for the archetype they’re designed for, but that archetype sucks atm and there’s no indication it’s going to change when the next expansion launches. A value meta is not happening so long as bloodborn tamisan and the demon seed exist. And if a value meta never develops this card is dead in the water.
I want it to be good, I really do. But the conditions for it to thrive just do not exist.
Is there a world where you can fit this into Quest Priest and have all your numbered cards as DR minions so you can go for the shard and have Xyrella along the way?
I’ve been playing quite a bit of DR Priest this week. It can definitely hold its own against Aggro decks but tends to fall short against Combo decks. This card allows even better survival vs Aggro as Priest can pretty reliably survive to Turn 8 as long as you don’t have a super greedy build. The extra survival and damage push from Xyrella definitely gives Priest a better, probably still not favorable, chance against decks like Questlock. I think this is a very powerful card.
This makes Undying Disciple worth considering over Lightshower Elemental. I wonder, however, if you’ve already made it to the point where several relevant minions have died, wouldn’t you rather just play N’Zoth?
I guess this gives you a ‘finisher’ Hero Power, but man is it slow. I want to like this but it feels like we’re missing important pieces at 4 and 5 mana.
DK Guldan; 10 mana, Res a whole board of minions that have died this game from a specific tribe including Charge Minions and super thick taunts that you can recruit from hand or deck rather than having to play them, Deal 3 damage lifesteal hero power.
Priest Version; 8 mana, do DR effects again (no bodies) for minions you paid full price for, heal 5 deal 5 for 4 mana hero power.
We did it, we finally solved Power Creep. You just take great cards from other classes from several years ago, nerf the hell out of them, and then print them without the support & synergy for Priest instead.
I look forward to the future Priest Quest where your opponent takes your fatigue damage for you, at a point in the game where Priest is drawing through it’s Deck on T10 while everyone else does it between turns 1 and 5.
When you repeat the battlecry or deathrattle of something that relies on an attribute, you use the attribute of the card that does the repeating. So Xyrella would need to have Attack for the Deathrattle of Undying Disciple to do anything.
I have a feeling it’s gonna be good and people are gonna be mad.
It’ll be glorious.
Oof, good catch. Ugh. In that case I’m not sold at all. This doesn’t help you win in situations you weren’t already winning.
Don’t worry, Undying Disciple was my first thought as well.
Anti-Synergy, Priest’s True Class Design gimmick.
with current deathrattles that´s a lot of armor/healing and maybe some 7drops+a board clear.
not sure how strong this ends up being, it´s sort of a way more conditional n´zoth?
might end up being better as a finisher in shadowpriest.
Admittedly, it’s better than guldan though if you can play it on curve and have played one heal elemental and one moarg taunt before 8. (w possible with mana cheat). So I would say in 25% of cases it’s better.
