Would you like this idea?

Hello! This idea is for the developers working on the hearthstone game to add a classic test version that would bring back the traditional hearthstone game, with the classic sets, basic and the rest where the cards were easier to play and understand, and without many microtransactions. What do you think of this idea?

You mean the mode that was removed a few years ago despite players asking them not to?

That has already been implemented in the game
There has been a classic format, a classic ladder, where you could only play classic cards obtained from classic packs (shared with their modern versions but with their classic stats and effects)
It was a huge fail as no one wanted to play it except a few people

no, I was saying add a new version of hearthstone, not delete everything they did in the standard version of hearthstone

They already created an entire game mode back in 2021 that was exactly the classic format from 2014,
It was literaly just classic+basic cards, exactly as you ask for
What would be the point to create a “new version” of the game to redo that ?

That’s not exactly what I was referring to, but to his action, to create a version from scratch, in which Hearthstone would be exactly like in 2014, with the classic sets, with the old expansions, and with the same gameplay as in 2014.

So, do it. Make it. Why are you asking the playerbase to make it for you? Do it yourself.

yes, yes I would if I had knowledge in programming, and in unity and access to the code behind the game and other resources. I put this idea, for the developers at hearthstone to look at and consider my idea. I just wanted to know how many players agree with this

I don’t want to go back to the days before the battle pass and lots of events that give free cards or packs. I didn’t play in classic HS so don’t have a nostalgia pull that would make me want it, either.

Besides, there’s no money in having multiple competing versions of Hearthstone. Blizzard isn’t going to do it even if 5,000 people respond here that they’d love it.

again, they don’t want to give up the standard version of hearthstone, I would like them to make a test version, in which they bring back the game from 2014. And it’s possible that they want to do that, plus they did the same thing with WoW

that’s the least of your problems, you can hire a bunch of indian chat gpt users for less money than it takes to advertize your game for a day

You gotta have a very decent design in mind and something that will differentiate your game between all the other competitors, especially this one

Although, approaching it as people have approached Frozen thrones to create DoTa could be a decent idea - just make a fan-base spin on HS with your ideas in mind and let it be not a competitor, but the complimentary part of the game, the one people didn’t know they needed, but the one they wanted all along

I understand what you’re saying, but that’s not what I want, why would I build the whole game from scratch, when they can do that?

Because YOU can do it better, and because apparently they don’t think we need or want that game mode

Becuase if you want it done you’ll have to do it yourself.

I need years of experience to do this plus many resources that I don’t have access to, it takes the people at Hearthstone less than a month to make a test version

Good luck!

It takes them more than a month to nerf an obviously broken card

I think you’re overestimating them and underestimating anyone else

That wasn’t the point of my idea, the point was for them to change something in this game, because it had become far too complicated even for veterans, cards far too op, and meaningless microtransactions

See, this is what they prefer to spend their resources on, instead

Well, that explains it

I don’t overestimate them at all because it’s still a large company with thousands or millions of employees there, who can handle things much faster than a single person.
