Why did you do this? too lazy, too dumb or you have nobody working on this because you’re doing other stuff?
You made great solo adventures before and almost everyone liked them, they were more fun than the actual core game. you get random treatures to choose from to build up your deck…its replayability.
Now you just made the normal…super super easy, I mean I tried to die but couldnt. and its just 4 games…for 700 gold. its expensive and you get nothing. the other thing is equally bad. and the hard one is the worst. You have to build a deck from the cards you already have…how boring is that. thats what we do all day. In solo we want something fresh. damn. bad bad bad.

i was literally just thinking this. this adventure feels super lazy! theres no like…no customization i feel like that were in the other adventures! picking a hero and a treasure and stuff like that. and each scenario had quite a path you had to try to overcome to win. this is just one fight and on to the next. Like in uldum you got a trasure or something after a few rounds, the inn in dalaran where you can do some new things. this is just one fight to the next with a set hero and deck. Feels just awful!
well you guys have been really lucky then cuz i’ve been losing games left right and center in this adventure… SUPER bad decks, hero powers which buff the enemy instead of you, the worst RNG possible every time… i’d welcome heroic mode at this rate. if only so i can customize my deck and actually get good cards for once…
Not sure how, you must be unlucky.
Yes the decks and powers are terrible but I did most of the rounds the first try with only a couple on the second.
Only the dragon one I had to do around 6 times before the cards the AI didn’t draw let me win and that is simply because winning in that is truly random.
Easy isn’t what I would call it, mostly an uphill struggle because of bad cards that you need to control the AI before you can attack, mostly possible to do that on the first try blind and not knowing your deck.
And I am certainly no 1337 MLG pro HS player winning $1m a year on the circuit, quite the opposite.
It certainly is expensive, but then I have 12k gold stockpiled and don’t buy packs to compete so I can afford it.
I consider it more of an experience, something you play for the story and that is about it.
I can’t say I really enjoyed it and won’t likely play it again or on hard, but you get to participate in the story and play solo HS.
My knowledge of solo content is only from Kobolds onwards and that and the other subsequent dungeon runs were pretty poor with dumb overpowered AI bosses.
At least this doesn’t in the main have that, the total opposite.

It’s certainly not fun, but I do enjoy having a way to get playable cards that’s not completely random. The price for those cards seems ok to me.

Previous adventures were pretty bad too. They were lazy. Yes, it had replay ability, but so much of the time you got screwed because your treasures weren’t good or you cards weren’t good. Once in a blue moon you’ll get an actually fun deck that isn’t just an arena deck, but is it really worth grinding so many runs for just one good deck?
Not to mention that the previous formats are plain lazy. Kobolds and Catacombs, The Witchwood, Rastakhan’s Rumble, Rise of Shadows, and Saviors of Uldum ALL had the same format with little variation.
Saviors of Uldum has one of the worst mechanics I have ever seen in any of the Dungeon Run formats–The Plague Lords. The Plague Lords’ large health pool makes it almost required for you to replay the same chapter over and over again unless you get a lucky draft. You don’t replay a chapter because you like it, you replay it because you HAVE to. It’s bad design that’s intended to artificially increase playtime without actually adding more content.
Not to mention the double classes which leads you to pick from card pools from 2 classes instead of 1, making it even more unlikely to draft a decent deck.
Galakronds Awakening is a bad adventure though. It’s heroic mode is way too easy and can be easily beaten with a standard ladder deck. GA’s heroic mode should have been more like LoE. LoE was very difficult and some bosses were even comparable to the Lich King in difficulty. You had to make a custom deck to counter each boss’s crazy difficult deck and hero power. In GA though, there’s no preparation, you just pick a random meme deck with a 40% win rate and still manage to steamroll them. Hagatha is a significantly weaker version of Lady Nazj’ar despite Hagatha having evolve cards like Dopplegangster, Saronite Chain Gang, Mogu Fleshshaper, and Desert Hare; Temple Escape is still extremely difficult even with new cards but the Dragonflights is just an unoptimized dragon deck that doesn’t make any big threats until turn 8 or 9; Madame Lazul and Dr. Boom are worse versions or Skelasaurus Hex–He paid 0 mana to get a random card AND reduced it’s cost to 0, Lazul and Boom have to pay for their card and hero power. Skruk is interesting in Heroic, but he’s not difficult since he was nerfed in heroic instead of buffed.
If they are going back to the old format, just go back to the old format. Normal mode, Heroic mode, class challenges. Story mode is fine if you want to include it also, but replacing normal mode sucks.
And they did it again. Same bullcrap lore solo adventer. Come pay 700 gold to listen for 30min to some backstory of dwarfs or rings…or whatever. Play with this premade deck that never changes…how fun.
Blizzard is all about the investor relation nowadays, they don’t give a flying fudge about making fun games.
You paid 700 gold to play that prolog? Contact support, it’s supposed to be free.
