So we’ve all seen Mindrender Illucia not go quite as planned for the Priest, but I’m pretty sure I just saw the most epic one.
I had just played Potion of Illusion to get a Flik, a Jandice and another decent battlecry. Bad time to have your mind Rent by Illucia right? So much value stolen!
…Except I think she forgot she had taken Deathwing off her Draconic studies a few turns prior. Turns out Deathwing is a pretty good card when you get to discard your opponent’s hand instead of your own.
I suppose she might have done it on purpose, in which case credit where credit’s due, that’s a pretty stylish way to resign, but I think it was an honest mistake.
Anyone seen an Illucia go worse, or do I have that record now?

The worst illucia i have encounterd was a priest playing it when he was at 9 mana and my hand was double 8 mana tort,8 mana power of creation 6 mana blizzard and me having an empty board.
I forgot what he did gave me but i did play his most valuable cards.
Another time was similar and he gave me dragonqueen. I did play dragonqueen and he insta conceded though he would have won if he had played on.

I had higher hopes for Illucia. Even without her nerf, stealing aggro cards is//was a minor play from her.
And you’ll always only have a 7 mana option which means you can’t use most control cards late game. Whereas they get a full mana turn with your deck. I’ve blundered more than once forgetting that.
I had 9 bombs and 30 hp, 15 cards left. I used Illu, my opponent didn’t drew any bombs. I gave the hand back, then…

Priest played it in mirror and did well making me waste some stuff and I had no good play from his hand but I drew his galakrond and played it and he insta conceded. I have also played illucia and had this happen once and gave a mage infinite value and he won. Moral of story is dont play her unless u have gala in hand.

I have illucia, shadowreaper Anduin, bloodmage thalnos and one other card on my hand and my opponent have doomguard and 3 other small minions on board and 7 mana next turn so i played illucia so my opponent cant do any burst damage but my opponent draw seance and used it on doomguard and discard almost all cards on my hand including shadowreaper Anduin
I had an opponent play it against me ASAP (so, with 0 mana left) despite me NOT being a Druid and their hand having a 1 and 2 mana card to use. I was scratching my head for a while trying to decide if it was a misplay or some sort of trap.
Gotta get that 1/3 on the board. The classic tempo Illucia.
