I just crafted this card recently and druid appears to be the worst deck for me. Has anyone had any luck with this? Are there any cards to look for in discover? I feel so lost playing druid when it comes up and would appreciate any advice from people who play Whizbang often. On the other hand, I am loving the paladin deck.
Mainly groovy cat, Free Spirit, and Jade Display.
The first 2 you want as much as possible, jade you technically only need 1
But it’s also important to not commit too much on them, but it also depends on what actual cards you are drawing.
My experience is that the HP buffs really are game changer when you get them early on, but it was before big hand-buff synergies wer emeta so I can’t really tell for the current state of the game
Ya gotta mulligan hard for early ramp (Wild Growth, Invigorate, Overgrowth). If you get 4 discovers on mulligan, discard them all in the search for ramp. If you dont have 8-10 mana by turn 5-6 youre gunna struggle.
I also like to discover on 1 for Jade Display, and 2 for Cat as mentioned above. Save the rest of the discovers after you’re on 9-10 mana
I would say mage is by far the worst, warlock is the best
Hunter can be ok if you are facing a greedy control deck and you get a lothermar or whatever the guy who doubles the stats of your deck, or if you get it twice. Or if you summon 3 chargers with the 8 mana guy
The rest are somewhere in the middle, perhaps DH is near the top but I haven’t gotten it that much.
Having played over 100 games with Whizbang decks, the top tier are def Warlock, DH and Druid. Warrior can get wins if you get a good lackey flood (and the legendary that makes your lackeys 4/4s) but falls off in the late game; Shaman likewise can put pressure early but also falls off in the late game. Rg, Priest, DK and Hunter are meh, and mage def gets the wooden spoon.
I beg your finest pardon? the deck is tricky sure, but most of the time it destroys all the cards you need for a win lol. almost every time.
I’ve been playing a lot of Whizbang because Legend is boring af with the current meta and my rank is going to tank anyway with trying out new decks from the expansion.
For me the order is:
- Warlock deck (far and away the best deck)
- Rogue (when rolled with specific treasures)
- Priest
- Druid
All the rest are pretty terrible - tho I did win 2x with the Shaman deck vs Druid today - with Mage being an instant concede regardless of the matchup.
There is little that competes with the self-satisfaction one feels in HS than beating a meta deck with Whizbang.
I wish I could get lucky with Druid but I am having trouble building a board and even if I do, I get cleared instantly. I agree that mage might be the worst deck actually. My top 3 is now Warlock, demon hunter, and priest. I enjoy the wins that I am getting with the hunter deck though. The buffed charged Dino is a funny way to close games.
Warrior is second worst, bad midrange deck that can’t win boards, has no win-con, and very limited control tools
But yeah mage
Ive played the whizbang deck idk a total of maybe 10 times since i crafted it. Ive gotten the warlock probably 6 times, the mage twice, and i think the rogue and druid each once. of those 6 times in lock, only once did the deck not delete the cards that are used once there is no more deck lol. So I have bad experiences with it. lol. no good ones yet with the others either lol. but when anomalies were still in effect i was able to climb to silver 9. been stuck at silver 10 since they went away. so now i just focus on bgs instead…
Out of 110 games I got (I keep records of my Whizbang RNG):
- DK 9 (8.1%)
- DH 6 (5.4%)
- Druid 13 (11.8%)
- Hunter 12 (10.9%)
- Mage 5 (4.5%)
- Paladin 10 (9.1%)
- Priest 9 (8.2%)
- Rogue 7 (6.3%)
- Shaman 14 (12.7%)
- Warlock 7 (6.3%)
- Warrior 18 (16.3%)
Im wondering if it’ll balance out to 9.1% per class by 1,000 games or continue to demonstrate the seemingly biased nature of HS RNG.
Mage is the worst by a wide margin. It’s comically bad.
Yeah I was getting super weak cards like archer elf and snowfliper penguin. It has like no chance against a meta deck.
Yea I screwed myself several times while learning how to play that deck, key is to understand how much time you have vs your opponent so you can try to pull the good sustaining cards vs needing to nuke your deck quick to get the quick win.
Yeah Warlock is great because the mulligan is in your favor
how so? im not sure I get why you say that
It’s simple math, there are 20 cards in the deck instead of 30. Thus, the odds of finding the cards that you need are much higher.
Ok you say its simple math, and then mention 20 cards… but Im not following how that correlates to the mulligan being in one’s favor? Isnt the point of a mulligan to get rid of expensive cards and get playable cheap ones? Its just always random… so I just dont follow what is meant by this? IDK…
Well it’s very simple, with less cards in your deck, the odds of you getting the cards you want on the mulligan increases significantly. Instead of 2/30, it is now 2/20, so you go from a 6% chance, to a 10% chance. The clear card to mulligan for is “fracking”. The cards to look for are Fanoteem, chef nomi, and Neeru. It is possible to drop Fanoteem very early in the game when the opponent doesn’t have many options. If that’s not enough, Neeru or Nomi can fill the board. Elysian is there to prevent self damage.
