Wording issue: Fireworks Fanatic (Battlegrounds)

Fireworks Fanatic reads “When you get a minion you already have, give your minions +1/+1.” Because of the way this reads I thought I’d test it in a pirate build which summons plenty of Sky Pirates. Obviously didn’t work, just think to clarify the card should read “When you add a copy of a card you already have to your hand, give the minions on your field +1/+1.”

“getting” a card is when a card goes into your hand, not summoning anything. For example “Sellemental: When you sell this, get a 3/3 Elemental.” The Elemental goes into your hand, not your board when you get it.

I get that, its just the wording could be a little more clear, that’s all.

A while ago they began changing the wording of cards to “get” in order to cut down on word counts, instead of saying “add a copy of (x) to your hand”, they can just say “get”. People who didn’t get the memo by reading this wording change they announced some time ago will understand it after playing a “get” card once. It’s similar to how “can’t be targeted by spells or hero powers” is now “elusive” to cut down on the amount of words needed. While this might be slightly unclear to someone who has never played a “get” card, you can understand any card with “get” in it from now on, reading a single word instead of a sentence.

but the word “get” was never used for summons in this game
