In the game I just played I was able to trigger this bug twice.
The first time was with 2 winged chimeras and 1 surprise elemental, second time was 1 winged chimera and 2 surprise elementals. Both times after turning gold their ability stopped triggering completely. No it wasn’t only when the divine shield was broken off, fully stopped triggering. It still counted down from 3 each round, but never did the animation or buffed any units.
This also just happened to me. 2 winged chimeras tripled with a surprise elemental. The ability did not trigger when tripled with the surprise elemental.
also just happened to me, even during shop phase it says that (0 left!). hope this can get fixed soon.
This is in tavern after golding with surprise elemental.

Just happened to me as well, golden with surprise elemental and then says 0 left while in buy phase and doesnt proc in combat.
