What deck did you play ? , a mill rogue ?
Jade Druid isn’t much of an issue in Wild based on playrate or winrate from the data available. You also have a tech card that eliminates the ability for Jade Druid to even fight fatigue in Geist.
Not my favorite playstyle deck to run (indifferent facing it) but it does not need to be changed at all for Wild.
Doesn’t even have to do with what I play or how to counter it or its win rate.
Infinite card generation is a broken mechanic which is bad for the game.
If you ignore opponent deck, ability to counter, or overall winrate, how do you define “broken”?
There are so many infinite abilities in Wild right now that the question is either:
Do we eliminate ALL of them or
Do we care about them when they become an issue?
I personally think #2 is the correct choice and, for Jade Druid, at least you have a tech card to stop the infinite generation.
I know Jade Druid isn’t common, I also know that pretty much no one runs Gheist today. So when you do run into Jade once in a while just can’t take him unless you running OTK combo deck or hyper aggro.
Play Jade Druid and you’ll be pretty much surprised.
Yes another druid nerf in an era that jades are less than mediocre in wild…
They did. It’s called geist
I play double skulking geist in Standard (mostly for Naturalize - Taunt Druid). I definitely would consider one or two for Wild. Especially in near future as some currently Standard players of certain decks may be heading to Wild post Rotation if they really like playing certain decks.
Jade Idol has been addressed. You see, there’s this wonderful card known as Skulking Geist, which craps all over Jade Druid decks and forces them to ragequit because their shield against Fatigue has been removed and they reach a limit to how big their Jade Golems can get.
while Jade Idol remains a dreadfully designed card, it’s not that problematic in current wild meta.
Jades are way too slow and nerf to ramp crippled druids significantly.
Yeah, it’s actually not too difficult to beat Jade Druid with even Jade Rogue or Shaman.
They have better tempo tools than the Druid.
For the OP, it’s probably easier to just add Geist.
I used to think that should have been the change. However, since Skulking Geist happened…well…
Guist is your answer
If you have no way of interacting with their ability to go infinite then yeah infinate value is a pain
But you can stop this with a tech card so it’s up to you to run it
If jade bothers you so much, then run Geist. Otherwise stop complaining about a marginally competitive deck.
Anecdotally, I genuinely cannot recall the last time I lost to Jade Druid. As mentioned above, that includes with my Jade Shaman (a high-tempo deck that can sustain itself into the late game) and my Jade Rogue (an extreme-value deck that can easily go infinite, albeit slowly): if this can be applied to the meta as a whole, Druid is now worse at Jade Golems than the other two Jade classes.
More objectively, it is likely that the deck is hovering around Tier 3, as in the latest Wild vS Report (https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/wild-vs-data-reaper-report-16/
). Such a deck absolutely does not warrant a nerf, especially with its low play rate and meta impact, and given that it is Druid’s only relevant deck in the format.
The deck is simply not that good these days, with Druid as a class crippled due to the ramp nerfs, and in the context of the current metagame. Never mind the fact that Skulking Geist is essentially a free win against them, especially with the deck being slower than ever before. If your favored deck does not fare well against Jade Druid, adding it in should drastically increase your odds.
It could do with a change, but not that drastic of a change.
A nice change would be to make the shuffle effect only work if you haven’t used Jad Idol’s Jade Golem effect. That way players have to actually weigh the pros and cons of summoning Jade Golems early with Jade Idol rather than just “meh, I have more copies of Jade Idol in my deck, let’s just summon a Golem with this copy”.
When I started playing wild regularly about a week ago, I ran into a bunch of jade druids, didn’t have geist, so I lost (I play control decks). So I went to a reno mage with geist, never faced a jade druid. Now playing an all legendary paladin deck, and now the jade druids are showing up again.
It’s purely random of course, I just find it funny.
