Well it seems you are at an impasse. From your written description, it would seem you would prefer they printed more impactful cards to shake up the wild meta, hinting at even a stronger presence of power creep than already exists.
I think this is were the conundrum lies. They can only power creep so much before every strategy in the game is reduced to “draw into your win condition asap or lose”. As I gave the theoretical zero mana purified shard example above, there is only so many cards they can print before “soft” win conditions (such as giant minions turn 4 or 5) behave in much the same way as the purified shard.
Effectively, all roads lead to very few strategies dominating all (in the extreme exactly one strategy,) and therein lies the conundrum, you think you want more impactful cards printed, but without changing core game mechanics (such as health totals for example) there is only so much space for impactful cards to displace the last generation of impactful cards before you arrive at the sterile, stale and repetitive gameplay of today.
Tl;Dr you think you don’t care about balance, but balance is a necessary condition for the type of gameplay you desire.
