Wild format… LOL

Finally got around to trying it competitively for a bit and can barely stomach it up to Gold rank. Theres like a decades worth of torment in that format just running complete and absolute muck.

I swear to the nine divines, old and new, that i will always continue to disenchant all rotating cards even if it sacrifices my itch to collect

Since the latest expansion I prefer casual play when playing wild decks. Standard isn’t any better in terms of the same meta decks running the ladder.

The biggest problem is the lack of nerfs. The devs completely gave up on the most recent expansion and it shows.

Standard right now made me dust my entire collection and just wait for rotation, amen.

With 0 casual games played in my 12 year career i am HEAVILY leaning to just play over there you’re right

IF I play wild I play one deck and one deck only. Jace spell DH. Even when I lose its fun to play and it’s the only deck I know and like, even if not amazing, that’ll mess with any other deck in the format at least a little bit as far as control.

I can always find something to play in Wild, which is why I stick with it.
Right now, imbue is the easiest to win with, but I can always fall back on secret mage.

Nah, you didnt play it competitively, because you:

Sorry, your 4 set standard deck wont compete in wild. Not really I’m not sorry at all for trolls getting what they deserve!

Best part of casual is games don’t really matter so losing doesn’t carry any weight, plus you see a lot more custom decks compared to playing the ladder. A lot more variety. Sure you’ll still encounter meta decks here and there but concede if you don’t like the matchup. I concede against almost all Priests because I don’t appreciate their playstyle. Eventually you’ll find a matchup you enjoy. Also keep in mind more people play during the weekend so you’ll probably run into more meta decks during that time.

I can barely stand playing ranked games these days. Only time I play ranked is to complete my weekly quest then its back to casual play, a lot more of a laxed environment.

I play alot of casual too. i try stupid stuff: (like dragon mage, lol.) pretty sure the new cards won’t make it viable again.

I love casual, I play a custom 30 card Reno Warlock deck.

I love seeing other people take decks and put their own spin on them. I’d rather play against a dragon mage or quest mage in comparison to playing against the same imbue mage or freeze mage every other game.

I miss the days when ranked wild had more variety in decks. Each class had like three or four competitive decks. Now each class seems to only have one or two competitive decks and everything feels stale.

Yeah the druid deck that discards their hand on turn 4 and gives them 10 mana crystals the very next turn and usually they can replenish their hand or play one card and win the game is plain stupid.

I agree Priests and Druids are the least fun to play.

All the shenanigan decks are a pain to play against IMHO.

Shamans are no better with their minion that calls 10 mana minions on turn 4… Just sayin.

It is actually an event when you get a normal game where players duke it out on curve with no overpowered tricks.

Hell, I would fight Murloc Paladins every day rather than sooper dooper crazy combos that one shot you or bring in ridiculous minions.

At least, against Murlocs, I get to play and I lose fair and square to a board.

There is some really annoying decks in Wild thats for sure. But you can also make your fantasy dream deck with it.

Its also impressive that priests have managed to continously ruin this game mode since its inception lmfao. Priest makes my top 5 fave classes list as 5th but it really is an insufferable class in wild holy smokies

Other than shadow priest i generally beat them.

Ranked wild has decks variety. More than standard nowadays. And actually reno decks are pretty viable to get to legend.

I got 84 legend rank yesterday using reno hunter. It’s just better to use 40 card version of the deck.

I don’t consider decks in wild to have much variety anymore when more than half the decks are using the same “Highlander” package and a decked stuffed with their best legendries.

Seems the majority of people don’t think they can make a good deck without those cards. I’ll admit I hate losing momentum against someone who have full healed back to 40hp, and I typically play midrange

Druids are absolutely the worse simply because ramp exist and they just don’t need it for them to be good.

Consider the 2 mana gain a mana crystal. For the rest of the game you basically cheating 1 mana every turn after for free and it adds up.

What really broke the mechanic was going past the 10 mana cap insuring they will always be at an advantage when before once the hit 10 mana, the benefit of ramping slowly decayed as you could catch up with them later. Ramp was fine until they made ways to break the mana cap.

As long as you draw your defense cards early. Half the time my defense spells sit in the bottom third of my deck and I’m dead by turn 4.

Casual play saves me a lot of frustration. Then I can skip playing certain classes/decks without worrying about my rank taking a hit.

I think one of the biggest problems with wild is the continued existence of cards that bypass board play altogether.

I think the game would be better off if cards like heroes, titans, colossals, locations, etc. were flushed after they leave standard. They were OP when printed, and in wild the effects just become depraved.
