Over and over and ****ing over the game will convert my wild decks to standard without asking me first.
How it happens:
I will play a game with a wild deck on wild. Then I’ll go play some other modes. When I come back to ranked it will still be set to wild. When I click play it will put me in a standard game, converting my deck without asking, while still showing the wild mode icon. The problem can be temporarily fixed by switching to standard then back to wild.
My guess as to why it’s happening:
Since you’ve decided that standard should always be the default mode no matter what, and it always switches back to standard by default, the game will switch back to standard on the server end, but still think it’s in wild on the client end. Then it will bypass the check for if I want to change my deck to standard.
This problem could easily be fixed by not having it switch back to standard so incredibly aggressively. A decision I am not happy about, as it’s a new change that is not only causing this bug, but also constantly trips me up over and over. The previous method of remembering what I was playing in before and staying on that was WAY better.
Funny that you report something as a bug, then add a weird theory that this is in fact deliberate and intended behaviour. If that theory were correct, then it’s working as intended and there’s no bug.
But luckily, there is no such secret plot to force people to Standard.
If it shows the wild mode icon, then you have not been forced into standard. When you play standard, you see the standard icon.
Can you elaborate a bit on the “converting my deck without asking” part? What are the visible indications of your deck being converted?
How exactly do you “switch to standard” if the deck has already been converted to standard for you? Please describe in detail the steps you do. Do you open the deck in the editor, change it to a Standard deck, then back to a Wild deck? Or do you merely fiddle with the mode selection in the Play Game screen?
Nope, I actually specified it was not deliberate behavior. That’s why I’m upset.
It converted my deck to standard, as in the cards in the deck changed to be not the cards I put in, and I have to go back rebuild the deck from scratch.
The wild icon will be displayed, but when the game starts, my deck is not the deck I built.
When I go back into the deck builder, I will find the deck has permanently changed and have to, yet again, rebuild the same deck from scratch.
Does that specify enough for you?

My Gamemode in ranked resets to standard every time this game patches.
Not such a big deal, still would be better if not.
Thanks for the additional information.
I hope it specifies enough for the Blizzard developers to figure out why this is happening and find a way to prevent it in the future.
Still a severe issue. except for me, my deck only gets converted for the match. it goes back to normal afterwards. however, there is NO fix for it. the deck can’t be used no matter what I do. I even deleted all my other decks. then I filled all my deck slots with slightly modified versions of the same deck. Each one has the exact same issue.
