There is a clear advantage to having 40 health and 40 cards over 30 card decks with little to no downside. In Wild mode 75% of decks play Renathal. Adding extra cards gives players a huge advantage over normal decks plus the fact there is also a 10 HP buff. How can the dev team be this incompentent when it comes to balance?
Unless a card is absurdly oppressive in Wild, they revert them back once rotated.
Adding extra cards is a downside as it messes up with your consistency. I can’t really think of a competitive wild deck against which it’s an upside.
Wild had a problem of too many decks being explosive and the games ended too quickly. Isn’t it a good thing that this allows to breathe a bit against explosive aggro decks ?
we were wating for the revert
wild players been asking for it to be reverted(for months ) and we are happy about it
no idea why are you so angry about 5 hp
Which is just an abysmal meta experience.
It really does not matter to these players, though. They just want to make these decks of everything they have ever used all in one. Some of them even run the card that shuffles five legendary cards into the deck.
Nope. It should be a separate game mode, honestly. There should be a line for people who want this and people who hate it enough to walk away from the game over it.
I think you under estimate how polarizing this card is.
Same old Boreas. Missing the point for years now.
All legendary quest priest with Renethal, Malchezaar, Cho’gall, Nozdormu and C’thun the Shattered
I’m convinced that people who hate Renathal are the type of people who cross their arms with a sad look and go “NO FAIR!” when they see the animation at the start of the game.
Renathal is in 29.6% of decks in Wild Bronze-Gold
27.6% of decks in Diamond-Legend
OP Is obviously mass exaggerating. Hence, “NO FAIR” response.
Renathal isn’t even in the best decks in Wild.
Top most played decks in Wild:
Bronze - Gold
Pirate Rogue
Big Shaman
Flood Paladin
Aggro Hunter
Plague DK
Handlock
IF/DS Priest
Spell Mage
None of which see Renathal played
Diamond - Legend
Pirate Rogue
Big Shaman
Flood Paladin
Aggro Hunter
Plague DK
Quest Warlock
Even Shaman
Aggro Shadow Priest
Shudderwock Shaman <-----------------Renathal finally appears here
Give me a break.
Stop exaggerating.
The time for complaining about Renathal is long gone.
Which is also not true and HIGHLY exaggerated.
And what’s wrong with that? The decks suck.
It’s not and the stats I just linked above prove it.
Renathal was bad when we had a Standard that had Super Sire Denathrius and aggro was slow that you consistently made it to turn 10 for your 50 damage Sire. Nerfing Sire would have probably been enough back in standard.
So it’s 100% of the decks that are not bots?
Are bots.
So what’s the problem ? They willingly make their deck bad to have a pleasant deck experience. I don’t understand why it’s a problem for the wild meta ?
the only “point” i see here is some people think hp is a scoreboard and you are winninng if you have more …
you know like when people complain about the opponent pulling an otk or a burst damage combo and they always start the complaint with
"i was winning " because they think having more hp means you are
You jest, but I’ve seen basically that before.
100%
I concede to every player that runs it instantly. It’s the most unfair thing I have ever seen in a card game to have one player start with more health total than the other. It’s completely ridiculous that it was ever put in the game, and it has caused terrible balance issues for as long at it has been around.
It should be sent to hall of fame or otherwise removed from competitive play.
It is in nearly every single human deck I play in wild right now. I just conceded six games in a row because of it.
If you have Renathal and/or a quest, I will pass - no thanks.
I have no interest in tryharding in wild, so I concede games I don’t want to play. The problem is I end up conceding more than I play.
This makes it even worse, though. You have to work harder to kill a bad deck? That’s counter intuitive.
Never mind you like grindy control decks… which makes Renathal a preference. For people that just want to play and move on, Renathal sucks.
And you just slog along wasting your time on bad game experience. Nope. It’s easier to just concede and do something more interesting.
The bronze through gold stats don’t really mean anything with how many bots are out there. I went ten games without seeing a human most of the day yesterday as I was ranking without bonus stars. It’s waaaaay more than 1/3 of humans playing Renathal.
It’s a two player game. Starting conditions should be the same. I shouldn’t have to work extra hard to kill you because you want to play bad cards. You should die twice as fast so you learn.
Man, you are like a professional at missing the point.
Okay, so you don’t actually have experience in games against it and you’re just reacting to the imagining of playing against it. I don’t understand how ANYONE who instaconcedes could ever expect anyone to take them seriously in any regard.
It isn’t a new card.
I don’t know why you are no longer on ignore, but I will fix that expeditiously.
I don’t know why anyone cares to read any opinion you have.
Edit: I didn’t realize they got rid of permanent ignore. I guess I’ll have to manually update the list annually now.
Wow I don’t think you even understood that my two sentences were connected to each other conceptually.
They got rid of it because everyone would ignore in, and he’s friend’s with someone there. Unfortunately, his profile is blocked so I can’t even ignore him at all.
Clearly you meant you don’t want to play against it anymore. Everyone knows Scrotes tries to get “wins” on technicalities.
If you click on your own name, go to your profile, and choose users from the menu, you can then add a user to ignore by starting to type their name. It will autofill, and you can select from a list. You have to use this manual process with people that have their post history hidden.
He acts as if the card didn’t spend two years in standard. It’s pretty clear what it’s like to play against it and it sucks.
I think it’s more that he’s very literal and linear, missing social cues and context on the regular. I try to have some grace and just ignore him because I’m sure he’s very lonely and in need of affirmation.
If you look at the top # of games deck that plays Renathal, it’s Shudderwock Shaman.
With a total of:
600 games.
Seriously, that’s it.
It’s time to let the hate go, my man.
This isn’t fair, considering in Wild I specifically play aggro decks more than anything.
Wild isn’t where I play to be competitive (at least not much any more)
It’s where I play to do a quest or to experiment and have fun with interactions.
Renathal is like the least problematic or frustrating inducing card in Wild. The aggro decks are easily some of the most annoying, especially stuff like Aggro Shadow Priest.
I seriously don’t get all the hate the card gets when stuff like deathrattle mine rogue exists(existed) that killed you on turn 4 with absolutely nothing you could do about it, or Quest Warlock.
The problem isn’t Renathal. The problem is the bots.
If you’re trying to play Wild to “have fun” then almost every single aggro deck is intended to kill any fun you want to have.
