Why isnt Astroids a spell?

Hello there…

I remember some years ago i complained, about Soul Fragments beeing shadow spells. It is a stone (just like the new Astroid). You put in your deck and get healing from.
Some one told med that it needed to be something so it got mark as a spell. So we have weapons, minions, spells, and heros. No nothing cards. And now the Astorids came and they are a nothing card. So i see a big issue with other cards you can put in decks. If that needs to be the case. Soul fragments should be a nothing card obviously. Curses should either get the own name as a cures card or it should be a nothing card.

Am just talking about fairness here. Because if the Astroid is a nothing cards. Open doors up for new specific cards. Or you could just make the astroid in to a spell.

What are your thoughts?

They are spells. What do you mean?

What Schyla said. “Draw a spell” effects can draw them, Triangulate can discover and copy them, spell damage increases their damage.

What are you talking about?

I think its about magatha not giving them to the other player when it draws them. Which is annoying lol

They’re still cast when drawn, and like all spells cease to exist after they’re cast.

Cast when drawn spells are never given to the opponent with cards like Maratha, because they are drawn first then cast. Like plagues.

If you go in to hearthstone. And press one of the minions there put in the Astroids. You can see the Astroid card. Look at the Card no description??
If you do the same with the soul fragments cards it says the soul fragment is a shadow spell…

It may be like you say and hidden. But i can see something on one and not on the other.
Just asking from what i can see.

It says Casts When Drawn.

Spells are Cast.

What you are looking at is SPELL SCHOOL. Soul Fragments have Shadow as a SPELL SCHOOL. Asteroids don’t have a SPELL SCHOOL, but are still SPELLS.

By your logic, this isn’t a spell because it doesn’t have a SPELL SCHOOL.

Not every spell has a SPELL SCHOOL.

I can cast a stone. With out the stone beeing a spell. And a Astroid is a big stone. Spells with out spell school still says it is a spell. The big stone do not.

I see what your saying… no need for caps. Came down. This may be your life. But i was just asking.

Show me where the difference is.

hint: there isn’t one

The stone from Excavates are spells.

And a spell.

None of them say “Spell” on the bottom of the card.

The Asteroid is a spell like any other spell that doesn’t have a spell school.

Seems like you need to calm down. The caps were just to reiterate the word spell school for emphasis, not a form of yelling.

Would it make you feel better if I went back and spent time bolding them instead?

This is a spell

As is this

I have all ready awnser. That it may be as you say. That is me agreeing with you. And say all right.

Im on my phone. And not on my computer. When i am on my computer every spell. Says spell. Above or below cant remember right. But im pretty sure of this.

I just google the Asteroid card. And under the Description it said Ability. Not spell. And the other cards say spell. Go to Hearthpwn and look. I rest my case. I would send a screenshot. But i cant find out how

No, they do not. They are listed as a spell under “type”. No where on the card does it say spell on a spell. They might have a tooltip that says something about a spell, but it’s not on the card.

You’re not looking at the right place.

Refer to here:

See on the right hand side where is says “Card Type: Spell” ?

All right. I can see that.

Good to know thanks.

I am pretty sure about that spell thing tho on computers. I think it is a tooltip as you say. Not on the card specific.

No problem. Sorry if I came of as harsh. I didn’t mean to. Sometimes my typing comes off as brash and it’s not intended.

BUt then don’t count them as a drawn spell, and that’s my issue with it right now.

No they do not.

Yes they do. They cast when drawn, as you would expect.

When do they not do that?

The card text is Spellburst: draw two spells. It will draw every asteroid in your deck if you don’t have two other spells in your deck because it doesn’t recognize drawing them as drawing a spell.

I was very clear: I didn’t say the aren’t drawn, I said they aren’t counted as a drawn spell.

It does. I think you’re getting confused on what is happening.

It counts them as spells they draw, but then the cast when drawn activates drawing more cards.

So it might go like this:

Oracle Spellburst. Draw 2 spells
Draws 1 spell.
It’s an asteroid. Draw Spell # 1 complete.
Asteroid draws a card.
Draws asteroid.
New asteroid draws a card.
Draws asteroid.
New asteroid draws a card.
Draws asteroid.
New asteroid draws a card.
Draws asteroid.
New asteroid draws a card.
Draws asteroid.
New asteroid draws a card.
Draws a Minion.
Oracle Draw Spell #2 activates.
Draws asteroid. Draw Spell #2 complete.
New asteroid draws a card.
Draws asteroid.
New asteroid draws a card.
Draws asteroid.
New asteroid draws a card.
Draws asteroid.
New asteroid draws a card.
Draws a Minion.

Ethereal Oracle complete.

So Oracle only drew 2 spells, but the asteroids drew everything else.
