And on a friday? Didn’t they do this on tuesday? What is going on? Emergency nerf patch?
Nerfs would be nice, I’m still waiting on crafting.
Edit: I didn’t fully read the OP’s question. I just skimmed it at first and took the wrong question being asked. No clue as to the special Friday event of patching/maintenance. Perhaps its a major hardware change or some such?
My original post was meant to answer why maintenance is always on Tuesdays in the daytime.
Three reasons I can think of
- Precedent: Blizzard has a well entrenched maintenance history schedule they have been used to for a very long time.
- They pick the hours of the day that affects the least number of people.
- They picked a time that doesn’t interfere with the location of their biggest paying customer base, which I imagine would be the Asia continent. So they are doing it at night for some out there.
Surprisingly the US isn’t the only place that exists, despite popular opinion
By the dogma that is called being patriotic I cannot endorse that statement. US Number 1.
No propaganda indoctrination here in this country. We don’t do silly symbolic things like make a hand gesture to a piece of fabric.
in all seriousness tho, its only for like a few minutes to an hour for hearthstone maintenance, and many times you can still log in and play you just might experience a disconnect is all.
Whereas with WoW that is shut down tight and there is no play at all involved, the game even gives a countdown to the end of the worlds of warcraft where everyone;s character will die. Just to be rebooted and revived when the server is back up again.
It would make sense that each region’s servers would be domiciled in locations close to their intended consumers. I doubt that the friday maintenance was some synchronized event.
And by asia I assume you are referring to china, which has its own data requirements and is co-owned by the state approved partner company there.
