For starters, I am not a new player to hearthstone by any means and I have played this game for years. I took a break for a good three or four months. I get online and I see that I’m at rank 25. “Alright, fair enough” I think and started playing ranked with my control/bomb/mech/budget warrior. From rank 25-20 I only lose one game. One. Then as soon as I hit rank 19, this is where all hell breaks loose. I played a total of 15 games. 9 of them were murloc-shaman.4 of them were big-shaman and the other two were zoolocks.
It made me realize why I quit this game,it’s not fun getting stomped by the same 3 decks 15 times in a row. And before anyone calls me a noob, I have been up decently high in the ranks in previous expansions (rank 8-ish), but this is just ridiculous and unfun. I cant compete with the tempo of murloc-shaman and i cant compete with the value of big shaman.
With all this being said, I need help on how to win A SINGLE GAME!
And i dont want to hear “CrAfT lEgEnDaRiEs”, because I dont have the dust to spend on a lot as i only have 800 dust.
Midrange Hunter is quite cheap and performs reasonably well and quickly.
You can definitely rank up with non-meta decks it just isn’t easy, though given that you say you’re a well-seasoned player, you likely have a good deal more insight to the game than most folks around your rank. Recently, a player made the 4-legend climb using only decks that have ZERO epics and ZERO legendaries. Might be worth a read if you’re looking for some inspiration.
Sounds like you should buy more packs from your local friendly Innkeeper so you can CrAft legEnDaRiEs more.
This game isn’t a charity, if you haven’t contributed anything to the gaming community of HS for the past months or so and don’t look forward to contriving in the future, don’t except it to be kind to you.
I have quit in the past multiple times. I learned to suck it up, work with what I had and just wait out until next rotation to be relevant again.
I found just as much fun in working with the little resources I had back then to win as I do now.
There are still many great cards from the classic set.
It’s a pretty good read. He talks a lot about his choices and why things work, etc. Gives good insight on how to build cheap things that can poke holes in the meta.
There’s a lot more to Hearthstone than netdecking, you just need a fair amount of experience and meta-relevant knowledge to see similar success. A 59% winrate from 4 to legend (and that includes testing) with jank like he had is damn impressive.
You’re better off blowing through that with something aggressive anyway. The playerbase in that section is so diluted with wierd decks and horrible misplays that if you know your way around what you’re piloting, you can easily capitalize on even the bad matchups.
You said you’re playing Warrior right? Warpath destroys Murlocs, they don’t particularly appreciate Brawl or Dyn-O-Matic either. You don’t need a full meta deck to deal with them
