Like Warlock has already so many good decks and so many good cards, each expansion they get even better and even cheaper removal and ever since the last nerfs they are allowed to kill you on turn 8. How should any deck that isnt aggro even compete, and if you are agro how should you play around this insanely stupid removal. I hate OTK decks with a passion but at the very least most of them require set up and time but this isnt even close requireing anything.
Mechatun was a mistake and it’s gonna haunt wild for ever
MechaThun is just one deck that if I’m playing something slow, I accept my loss and move on. Nobody actually likes playing against it, nor was anyone complaining about Bloodboom being nerfed.
You can stall with Loatheb or you can bait with Albatross being on the board. That’s really it with slow decks.
I requires you to empty your entire deck and have only the correct win condition cards remaining in your hand. Oh, and not get dead along the way. I’m not sure how often a turn 8 Mechathun kill occurs in Wild. But last expansion I played it in Standard and it typically took until turn 13-15 or so for me to be able to pull off the OTK. If you can’t kill your opponent by turn 15, you don’t deserve the win.
well there is a lovely card in wild that destroys every card that destroys all cards in your deck. Together with Kael’thas Bloodbloom is required anymore. And with ridiculus and targeted draw and stupid cheap removal any deck that isnt agro auto looses against it and i saw many agro decks struggle keeping a board.
Except all mechatun player
I would be in the forefront of the anti-mechathun club, as I do dislike playing against the deck, if it were like questmage(a deck with no anti tech)
But you can easily screw with the current iteration of thun but using dirty rat/deathlord. In fact, there are now THREE different minions the player needs in his hand in order to pull off the combo.
There are plenty of other tech cards that would work as well.
I’m convinced this iteration of thun warlock will never be competitive because if it DOES start to pose a problem, decks have very simple ways of teching against them.
If you choose not to, just accept that there’s a matchup you, by your own choices, are not favored against.
Not be so bad about it.
Alternative win conditions exist in almost every card game and they are fun.
As long as it’s presence is at only one deck it’s okay.
With a single card: Hakar the Soulflier. The only problem to get it on the table before turn 10. Priest and rogue have no problem with it.
welp you know that hakkars blood is still a 1 cost spell and it gets destroyed like all other cards in the warlocks deck…
oh mechathun!! by far the most stupid thing ive ever seen a game company add to their game. it will always remain my favorite videos to show anyone interested in hs and needless to say they are left with zero interest.
drop a card and win LMAO…
Are you talking about this? LMFAO!
Any junk you shuffle into the deck may disrupt the combo.
Albatross before the proc, dirty rat, gnomeferatu, bombs, sustained damage, etc.
This deck is not even tier 1, and any tech can auto win.
Of all the things happening in wild, this is not the biggest problem. (It’s not a problem.)
As much as i dislike solitaire win decks, combo is a valid archetype, and alternate win condition cards enrich the deck pool in the only eternal format we have. I’d love to see yet another one.
Also, the decks that define the speed of the format are the aggro ones and the warp caused by quest mage.
Also also, rot in hell darkest hour warlock. You won’t be missed.
Also also also, burn mage (aka secret) is what grinds my gears.
